Need Help Reading Lab Results (Thyroid Conditions & Hair Loss)
Where did you get these ranges? They don't correspond to any normal or optimal ranges I've ever seen.
From the ranges I've seen, your TSH is very good (exactly where my endo wants to get me), but your T4 would be considered slightly below normal range and T3 would be seriously below range.
Maybe your doctor uses some other form of measuring? The T3 is particularly important because it's the most important for hair.
Ranges 3 different docs gave me:
Normal range
TSH- 0.5- 3.5
T4- 0.8-1.8
T3- 2.3-4.2
OPTIMAL range
TSH- 1.3-1.8
T4- 1.2-1.3
T3- 3.2-3.5
(my current doc thinks if I can get my T3 closer to 4.0, my hair will stop shedding. He says some people need to be at the high end of the range for T3)
