Need Help Reading Lab Results (Thyroid Conditions & Hair Loss)

Sorry, I have to disagree with Hairsite on this one, your labs are not "normal". Was that a Free T3 test, if not, you need that one done, the regular T3 test is useless. The tsh is not a correct indicator of hypo, it too is useless. Your Free T4 is below range which indicates hypo. Without a doubt, I would be looking for a new doctor, Sheesh!!! thyroid conditions don't cause hairloss. Endo's usually don't make good thyroid docs as they tend to go strictly by labs and won't listen to symptoms. Sometimes you will have better luck with a DO.

Many times women will develop thyroid condtions after giving birth, called post partum thyroiditis I think. Find you a hypo symptom list and see how many fit you and take your labs and list with you and find a new doc.


A good site for thyroid problems and you can post your labs there and have the mods take a look is www.realthyroidhelp.com they have helped me way more than any doctor ever has.
