weird situation-- need help! (Birth Control Pills & Hair Loss)
hey girls,
so i'm 20 and i've been shedding like crazy lately. it's been a progression, in high school I never used to shed, then my senior year i started shedding a little. I went on birth control right before I left for college and the shedding just got worse. it was never *terrible* i would lose maybe 15-20 hairs on my head, but they just didn't grow back!! i don't know what was wrong, but that's when my hair started thinning. the hairs that would grow back were much thinner. (I think that was androgenic alopecia triggered by birth control).
I decided to go off birth control this past january because the shedding was not getting any better and my periods were also becoming excessively light and of a weird consistency (I still don't know what's up with that)
after going off birth control, my shedding immediately got better. i seriously didn't shed anything at all. my period got much better, back to before I was on birth control. all around i felt incredibly health.
then all of the sudden, around a month ago, my hair started falling out again. (it had been around 4-5 months since I had been off birth control?) they were long thick hairs from all over my head. since going of birth control pills (Yasmin, btw), my hair has been straighter too.
do you guys know what's up? and what I should do? I just started rogaine and I've been taking herbal supplements, and I think I'm going to try going to a homeopathic doctor sometime. any advice? did any of you guys go through a similar situation? help me, I'll be so happy with anything you suggest!!!
