» No toxic or adverse effects have been associated with large intakes of
» vitamin B12 from food or supplements in healthy people. Doses as high as 1
» mg (1000 mcg) daily by mouth or 1 mg monthly by intramuscular (IM)
» injection have been used to treat pernicious anemia without significant
» side effects. When high doses of vitamin B12 are given orally, only a small
» percentage can be absorbed, which may explain the low toxicity. Because of
» the low toxicity of vitamin B12, no tolerable upper intake level (UL) was

Yes, it is technically "nontoxic", as in, one cannot get hypervitaminosis with too much ingestion of the B vitamins as one can w/ too much Vit A or E; however, again, not only my naturopath (who was the first to tell me this), but also my MD derm and chiropractor stated (which does seem obvious) that super-high concentrations of many vitamins, not only the fat-soluble ones, leach certain minerals from the body in order to synthesize them. IOW, while nontoxic, one simply needs to educate oneself on which minerals one needs MORE of in order to synthesize extra amounts of vitamins and iron, or one will become deficient in those minerals. .....FG ;-)
