Hey gals,
I've tried this and let me tell ya, my hair stunk for a full week! And that's with washing it everyday afterwards. Haha, I wouldn't recommend it unless you are a loner who lives in a shack in the woods. (I used just the juice of the onion tho, not the honey which the girl used.)
I do think there might be something to this study though, as onions are chock full of anti-inflammatory actives such as sulfur and quercetin - both thought to be wonderful for hair and skin. Quercetin acts as a free radical scavenger. I actually bought some powdered quercetin - it's bright yellow and looks similar to cumin, which I might mix up in a shampoo or some sea kelp bioferment and use it as an after shampoo leave in. Hopefully it wouldn't stain.
