ť I would have to say that I never experienced hl prior to peri. I had been
ť on bcp for several years in my twenties and early thirties. No problem
ť during or when I stopped. Even though I grew tons of hair while pregnant,
ť I never noticed a postpartum shed. In fact, I seemed to hang onto all of
ť that hair. I couldn't believe how much hair I had and was thrilled because
ť I never had that much hair. I'm not sure if hl coincided with peri or not
ť but it has been off and on for the last 5-6 years.
ť On day 15 of my cycle my estradiol was 50 pg/ml. That's the only time
ť it's been tested. The lab results read as follows:

ť Postmenopausal: less than 88
ť Non-pregnant - Mid Follicular: 24-114
ť Periovulatory: 62-534
ť Mid-Luteal: 80-273
ť
ť I don't know which category I fall into, if it's mid follicular,
ť periovulatory, etc.? I did read somewhere that anything under 100 may
ť signal peri. All that my gyno said was that everything is "normal" and I'm
ť not in menopause. Well, I know that! Delilah, I'd appreciate any thoughts
ť on all of this!!!

It sounds like peri to me. As you know my problems didn't start until postmenopause but most women's start in peri.

All I can say is that every test I took was considered normal by doctor's other than Dr Redmond who immediately said the low E was the red flag. I don't know about your levels since you're on the pill and still getting a period, although I don't know if you're still ovulating.

Do you have any other symptoms that might make you suspicious like night sweats, dry eyes, hot flashes? The only symptom I had was night sweats but no hot flashes to speak of...also my skin started to get dry especially on my legs and I remember itching them a lot.
