Hi Chris-
Sorry you are having such a time of it. When one of my docs mentioned yasmin, they felt it would stop the hormonal fluctuations, which was the primary reason for the hair loss (in their opinion). I guess some people spike up and down more than others and the result can be hair loss.

You could very well be in peri and not show it in the bloodwork. My periods were very heavy at the start of peri and I thought at one point I was headed toward a hysterectomy. At some point they did an about face and began to get lighter and skip. Only in the winter do I notice dryer skin but I do have the dry eyes (this came much later in the peri years) and I do get hot flashes along with night sweats. You are at the right age. I think 51 is the ave. age of menopause and peri can be 10 years long. Did your doctor tell you how long you would need to wait after bcps to see results? FYI- my estrogen was 9 at last labs but my hair loss was worse at estrogen at 89. I think it was the ratio of progesterone to estrogen that was a problem for me.
