The increased shed at that time of the year could just be coincidental, it also could be that the humidity picks up and your hair gets more tangled. I know with my hair I always seem to loose more hairs on humid days than ones that are not.

I would be hopeful about your hair bc if it is peri related you know there are several of us here who've had a good outcome in that situation. You just need to get on the right regimen to get it to stop shedding.
