Avodart for Women? (Propecia, Finasteride for Women)

Thanks so much for all the information and clarification. I really appreciate it.

Do you know of any published research (other than the two articles on Journal of Drugs in Dermatology that occur in this thread)that addresses the use of Avodart in women? Are there any other studies being done that hold out hope for women?

Also, I am a 54 yr old woman, post-menopausal, on HRT since 1996, and I have been on Proscar 2.5 mg. for 1.5 yrs. after being diagnosed with AGA by biopsy. Proscar "seemed" to work at first, but the "burning scalp syndrome" with increased hair loss began again about 6 weeks ago. I have spent hours searching the web with not much in the way of good news. What would you suggest?
