An itchy crown could be androgenetic hair loss. It's a symptom of too much testosterone or a high sensitivity to testosterone -- even if your blood tests come back as normal.

Also...TE can "herald" the start of androgenetic hair loss (I hate that phrase, but it's accurate). Once your hair has gotten into this shedding cycle, even if it was caused by TE, if you're predisposed to androgenetic hair loss, TE can kick start it.

Dr Redmond's book, The Hormonally Vulnerable Woman does a good job of explaining the different symptoms associated with the different causes of hair loss. It will answer a lot of your questions and help you make an informed plan of action. Don't wait. It rarely gets better by itself.

ť I have been suffering from TE for the past 6 months now..I just want the
ť shedding to stop..I think I have lost about 70% of my hair but I never knew
ť why it started, I wasn't on birth control pills, my blood tests came back
ť fine the only thing my doctor said was because I had done overseas travel
ť perhaps the change in diet or water affected my hair. Anyways, about 3
ť months ago I noticed the fine fringe of new hair along my scalp line. Now
ť the hairs are getting longer and I can see fine hairs growing in all the
ť time. My questions are as follows..since I am seeing regrowth does that
ť mean my shedding and TE will stop soon? Because I am still shedding but
ť since my hair is regrowing does that mean whatever caused it to start is no
ť longer a trigger? And these new hairs that are coming in are finer than my
ť normal hair..will they thicken up over time or is this the new consistency
ť of my hair? And my head is also really itchy..especially the crown of my
ť head..is that normal? Anyways those are all my questions and thanks in
ť advance for all your help!!
