finasteride cause scalp pimples? (Propecia, Finasteride for Women)

i do have some occasional pimples on the scalp. I have been on 0.5mg propecia for 4 months with some results. However, my doctor has decided to stop prescriping propecia to me b/c he said it is not standard medical practice and is contraindicated in women. I would like to know which dr you go to and how you convinced your dr to prescibe finasteride to you?
