You can lose hair due to dandruff. Dandruff is a kind of scalp inflammatary condition. Dandruff can be easily treated. If your hair loss is strictly because of dandruff, the hair should grow back very quickly. Treatments such as Nizoral shampoo should work quite effectively for most people. For more severe cases, you may need cortico-steroids such as Betamethasone as prescribed by your doctor.

However, usually most people do not lose their hair due to dandruff alone.
