Depression and Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopcia (AGA) Female Pattern)
This hair loss thing has me so depressed I can barely function. The hair is definitely thinning - I'm starting to see more scalp. Ugh. I'm just shy of 40.
I'm on my first cycle of Yaz. The side effects are not fun. Basically, my period hasn't stopped! Some days I'm crampy, some days not. The only glimmer of hope was that my hair stopped feeling so fragile almost immediately -- and I'm in the middle of a shedding cycle.
I'm trying to get an appt w. an endocrinologist. Based on everyone's reports of "your hormone levels are normal, so it's stress, deal with it", I don't have high hopes, but I guess I have to give it a chance.
I have an appt w/ a psychiatrist next week to deal with the depression and anxiety.
It's like a chicken and egg thing, you know? If the hair thing weren't happening, I probably wouldn't be (so) depressed. And, if I weren't so depressed, the hair thing might improve.
Sorry for the pity party over here. I just got my hair cut. I don't like handling my hair and the stylist wasn't exactly gentle. Not fun.
