Aubrey Island Naturals (Hair & Scalp Odor Problem)

posted by Miz Bea, 09.12.2006, 08:12

Hope your hair continues to do fine. I think your scalp is more well and healthier than mine. I had a few setbacks because of the Nizoral and experimentation with 'this and that'.

I guess my head was OK at the funeral. (I did get a little emotional, though.) You know how one has to hug people at funerals. Since most of them knew me or of me, they wouldn't have said anything anyway (at least, not to my face!). It's sad though that now if I smell ANYTHING, even just faintly, I always assume it's coming from ME!.....Even if it's a NEW bad smell! I didn't use the JASON's Dandruff, though. I was afraid I would heat up and give off that familiar sulfur smell. So I used Aubrey Island Naturals Shampoo and cond. It smells heavenly but I noticed a bit of that old stink trying to come back last night. Still will need JASON's D. for a good while longer. May have to use regular sls free shampoos first, then the Dandruff, then the conditioner. I know this lessens effectiveness a bit, but I can't take any chances what with social days coming up. Also, I noticed that the Island Naturals has 'carageenan' in it. Maybe it's from a natural source and if it isn't, maybe it doesn't absorb into the scalp. Have learned a little about the 'liposomal' action of a product from using the JASON's D. Also, was able to get a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" deal on the Dandruff at GNC, so I stocked up. I am a little concerned about the change in ingredients, though. I'm hoping sodium trideceth sulfate, the cocamidopropyl betaine and other sodium etc. stuff is on the low or mild irritant list. I haven't seen them use sodium myreth sulfate in a while. And when I talked to them they said they were constanly working on new, better and milder formulas. But if I notice any irritation from it, I will mix it like they said I could do, even though it will cut the effectiveness.

Good luck in January with your doc. I, too, have a doc and also a derm apptmt' in January. Let's keep each other in prayer....

Well, I won't be so talkative in the next few weeks. I'll still read posts from time to time, though. Also, I've been going over some of the old forum posts and see that there are even a few new ones mixed in all through. So many seem to be affected with this! (Or so it appears if you believe the posts and the other forum sites.) Wish somebody would still call Oprah!!! Bye for now until later. Take care of Betsy (and Betsy's hubby, too:-D ) Good luck and many blessings! --Miz Bea:waving:

Miz Bea,
» My hair did just fine with the coloring..at least so far so good! I
» washed it today with the Aubrey Island Naturals...I love that stuff.
» Anyway, I am going very cautiosly with the Natrual Instincts.
»
» How did you do at the funeral? Hope you were close to people with
» confidence, especially using the Jason Dandruff. No fear with that.
»
» I'm glad to hear you did well with the flax seed oil. I'm fine with it so
» far. If you can believe it, I have to go for bloodwork in early
» Jan...right after the holidays! Hopefully my doc will have mercy on me.
» I'm really hoping the cod liver oil and flax seed oil will do their thing.

Miz Bea is located in [NA] and he is available to meet: YES
