Hello, I posted under the same initials just below you re: tricyclic antidepressants and hair loss. I don't know about Lexapro (I think it is one of the newer antidepressants whereas tricyclics are old school) but I believe all antidepressants have potential to cause hair loss. Pamelor caused my TE and 4 months later I am still shedding. If you have been sensitive to antidepressants in the past, I would not try it. But if you absolutely need it to function, you might try it for 2-3 weeks just to get you back up to a functional level and then taper off. I have no idea if you will lose less hair in that time but it seems reasonable that the less time it has had to build up in your system the less potential for hair damage. I hope you can find another alternative though--good luck.
