Very Low calorie Diet / hair loss (Diet & Hair Loss)

For the past few months I have been losing hair at an alarming rate. If you are reading this then you will already know how I'm feeling. I think it was triggered when I came off a very expensive,very low calorie diet with a very uncaring nationwide company. They tell me that I am a one off, and it hasn't happened to anyone else....but google informs me that hair loss it is a very common side effect of a VLCD.
Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has sufferd hair loss in the same circumstances and how they got on with treatments / regrowth etc. I am considering some sort of hair replacement to mask the problem, as it looks so bad, and wondered if anyone knows about a treatment called "Volumiser", only available in London salons. I read about it in a magazine article recently, and as it costs £2000 I want to find out a little about it or any other help or advice anyone can offer on this or any other treatment, before I spend any money.
