Hi Heather, I'm having similar problems to yourself after being on a very low calorie diet for around 10 weeks. During this time I did not eat any conventional food, only food packet that was supplied from the company. In all I was having 500 calories per day but was lead to believe that I was getting ALL my vitamin's and mineral. Since coming off the diet my hair began to fall out in clumps, like yourself the hair I have left is dry and brittle. My ferratin and b12 level are very low but fall within the normal range so the doctor is not interested. Infact they have suggested that I am imagining the whole thing!! I am now taking iron tablets daily in the hope that I can increase my level to 70 in order that my hair can regrow. I am also going to see a tricologist tomorrow evening who can do a test to find out what you are lacking from the inside, they will give you a report on the contition of your hair and also prescribe any medication that you require to sort out any deficiencies that you may have. I will let you know how I get on. Dont give up hope yet
