ť Hi Heather, I'm having similar problems to yourself after being on a very
ť low calorie diet for around 10 weeks. During this time I did not eat any
ť conventional food, only food packet that was supplied from the company. In
ť all I was having 500 calories per day but was lead to believe that I was
ť getting ALL my vitamin's and mineral. Since coming off the diet my hair
ť began to fall out in clumps, like yourself the hair I have left is dry and
ť brittle. My ferratin and b12 level are very low but fall within the normal
ť range so the doctor is not interested. Infact they have suggested that I
ť am imagining the whole thing!! I am now taking iron tablets daily in the
ť hope that I can increase my level to 70 in order that my hair can regrow.
ť I am also going to see a tricologist tomorrow evening who can do a test to
ť find out what you are lacking from the inside, they will give you a report
ť on the contition of your hair and also prescribe any medication that you
ť require to sort out any deficiencies that you may have. I will let you
ť know how I get on. Dont give up hope yet :-)

Thanks for getting back to me. I hope your right i have lost 70% so far and it's turnign white and it's dry,brittle and lifeless. I just feel it may be too late for it to come back. I have not had any new growth at all. Did you have thyroid anti bodies on your blood test mine were elevated a 1 1/2 yrs. ago and they didn't take it seriously now they went up again, and i heard that this could be the problem! Where are you located? I'm in NYC. I would love to hear how your appointment went. I hope it went well. Thanks Heather
