Diabetes and Hair Loss (Diet & Hair Loss)

The link between unchecked and uncontrolled diabetes and hair loss has been established a long time ago. I am not sure that women on this forum have experienced hair loss due to diabetes but I am wondering if anyone has. Would hair loss due to diabetes be similar to AGA? Or would it look different?

Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
