fungus or yeast - another question (Scalp Inflammation, Irritations & Dermatitis)
I am trying Nizoral shampoo because I heard that it is an anti-fungal/anti-inflammatory (in case that is what is causing my chronic scalp inflammation and slight itching). I tried it for the first time today, and my shower-shedding was more than when I use a regular shampoo, but each time I have tried a shampoo specifically for inflammation or dandruff (I have very slight dandruff) it makes my shower shed more. I have tried Head and Shoulders, Jason Dandruff shampoo, and tea tree oil shampoo. Each one has made my shedding worse in the shower. So I will use the Nizoral a couple more times in the upcoming weeks (not every day) and see if, overall, there is improvement despite more shedding in the shower.
My question is: Why do so many shampoos for scalp conditions seem to cause MORE hair loss?! As you can see, I have tried many different kinds. And it is not just a matter of a dry scalp, because for awhile I was only using my gentle, all-natural shampoo, and shampooing every other day. Even then I would have some days a little itchier than others. And the past few days I have tried specifically rinsing my hair/washing with cool water.
