We have stressed on numerous occasions how important it is to start a scientific regimen to measure the extent of your hair loss. Our coverage on measurement technique is also echoed by Dr. Amornsiripanitch.

To HairSite: I am a Thai dermatologist and would like to share some thought about the hair loss problem.

1. I wonder why no one thinks about the fundamental of modern medicine of using measurement technique to monitor hair growth and hair cycle to exactly know the whole indexs of hair in normal people; men, women and children. The developed techniue will be used regularly by doctors who are working in this field, all the data will be beneficial at last. Considering the use of techniques to measure blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and fever, all of these mentioned tech are the most important to improve all the knowledge in each fields.

2. Once we have the dependable technique to measure the hair, we can search which factors both eating and living will make the hair looses it longivity. Please keep in mind that we do not know anything fundamentally at all what we should avoid. When you have other medical problems, you know quite clearly what you should avoid. Modern medicine needs both the standard techniques to monitor the problem and the sound advice to at least keep the problem from getting worse.

3. Developing both items mentioned above, doctors will be real specialists on whom people can depend. But now people just go their own ways to try a lot of ways and you can predict that the result will be mixed and will not be the same (do not forget the lack of the measuring tech and the advice to standardise everybody before you ry such and such treatment ). Eventhough the person who get the best result, he or she will not be able to stop the medication because they do not have the measuring tech to help monitoring when they are lacking the medication. And how you will live your life to minimise the hair loss problem. People with hypertension, diabetes etc., they all have the techs and the full advice.

4. All of the above sounds very simple but no one dose care about making these things straight, why ? I would suggest that it may be because of the conflict of interest. If you want to go to Mar, you can logically think about the sounded plans and move on directly. But about the hair loss business, there are a lot of groups gaining benefits. The more the consumers confuse, the easier they can control. Think about all the medical specialty, they are all in serous fields that nobody will loose the benefit if the specialty will form such as oncologist, hematologist etc. Why not acne specialist, hair specialist.

My first letter is not quite directing to the hair loss problem most of the people would like to read such as the combined therapy etc. Please think carefully and if there is a good response to this first contact, I may elaborate more into the issue of hair loss treatment advice in the next letter.

Sincerely:
Dr. Somnuk Amornsiripanitch Dip. American Board of Dermatlogy.
