Upjohn the exclusive rights for 5% minoxidil marketed as Rogaine Extra Strength For Men in
the US for three years.
- Pharmacia & Upjohn is the manufacturer of Rogaine (2% minoxidil) -
one of the most popular topical lotion for hair loss in the world. In January 1998,
the company introduced Rogaine Extra Strength For Men in the US - a formula that contains
5% minoxidil.
- Pharmacia & Upjohn has budgeted $80 million to market and promote
the stronger version of Rogaine. It has been reported that the stronger formula performs
45% better than the original formula.
- While Pharmacia & Upjohn has the exclusive rights to market
Rogaine Extra Strength For Men (5% minoxidil) in the U.S., a generic version of the same
