| In August 1998, Pharmacia & Upjohn Co.,
manufacturer of the anti-baldness topical lotion Rogaine, filed a lawsuit against
Streamline International, a Utah based company which sells a herbal formula for hair loss
called "Regain". According to Pharmacia & Upjohn, the brand name Rogaine is
used only in Canada and U.S. Outside U.S and Canada, the same product is marketed under
the name "Regaine". According to a spokeperson of Pharmacia & Upjohn, they
first become aware of Streamline's herbal formula from the Internet. Streanline International has chosen to comply with the court order and stopped using the name Regain for their products. |
