| On October 6, 1999, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Unilever announced a research and development agreement in the area of hair loss prevention. Under this agreement, Bristol-Myers will have access to the hair follicle research developed by Unilever. In addition, Unilever will grant Bristol-Myers rights to their patents related to hair loss research. This is the first time that a technology developed by Unilever will be licensed to a pharmaceutical company for the expressed purpose of developing a prescription product. However, neither company has offered any information about the types of hair loss products that will be introduced to the public. All that is known is that it will be another prescription drug for hair loss. | |
