| Pharmacia and Upjohn, the manufacturer of the famous topical hair loss treatment Rogaine (minoxidil), is facing a federal lawsuit initiated by a Denver doctor over the discovery of the medication. The doctor claims that while he and a fellow researcher were working at the University of Colorado medical school 28 years ago, they discovered the agent minoxidil that can help in reversing baldness. Paul Grant of Littleton and Gunter Kahn of Miami were the two researchers who brought this discovery to the attention of Pharmacia and Upjohn. They reported their findings to Upjohn and asked for royalties from the discovery. The two doctors claimed that they were ignored by Upjohn which subsequently marketed the agent minoxidil under the name Rogaine. Rogaine turns out to be one of the most popular and most sought after hair loss treatment in the world. | |
