Dr. Woods - patient Cliff - NW6 - 3000 FUE - 6 months (Hair Transplant)

Dr. Woods' patient.

Cliff 3000 FUE grafts - 6 months Post Op
Cliff was a Norwood 6. He had 3000 grafts performed by Dr Ray Woods.

5 consecutive procedures were performed in late April 2007. A further procedure to bring the hairline down was performed in June 2007. He still has more growth to come through and further photos will be posted around the 8 month post op mark.

As is clearly demonstrated in his before video, there is very little to no pre-existing hair in the recipient areas.

Dr. Woods - patient Cliff - NW6 - 3000 FUE - 6 months

Great job. This patient has great donor hair for fuller coverage. In this case no need to go down the stip route at all.

near perfect yield ?

Dr. Woods, this is very good coverage for only 3000 grafts. What kind of yield do you think he had? 90%, 95%, 99% ?

Thats not a seventies hairstyle. That looks more like an American President hairstyle - Yes cut hair shorter, shorter hair tends to look more to the eye.

GREAT RESULTS!

I have never seen a NW 6 with so much donor. His sides and back are a lot thicker than the top. I think he would look a lot better if he cut his hair short overall. Long hair will make him look like he is trying to do a comb over.

Man I tell you, this guy has enough donor to have near complete restoration, the key is to do strip-fue hybrid. I think he could max out the donor and get 5000-8000 grafts by doing one or two strips, then he can add another 1000-1500 from his sides via FUE, case closed, and he never has to worry about his hair anymore.

I like it when you can hear Dr. Woods talking to the patient in the video, I am sick of listening to those cheesy background music in some vids, not to name names but I am sure you know who :)

Excellent result considering 3000 grafts vs the extent of baldness. Its very good result. And more hair would grow considering its just 6 months.

For me its just taking forever to download when there is an automatic video on the post/page.

Wouldnt a click-able video link be better?

I agree. I think the strip/FUE combo is the best for attacking your full restoration.

He is capabable of having the fullest restoration possible with FUE alone, and at the end of the day , have a buzz cut.

Dr. Woods, there is always a debate about the numbers possible with FUE Vs strip. We have seen quite a lot of strip work using up 6000-7000 FUs (with "reasonable scars" ) from the likes of H&W but little if any FUE with those kind of numbers. What is your opinion regarding the possibilities of FUE Vs strip in regard to numbers rather than anything else. Thanks, Marco

There has also been a debate if large number cases are using much graft fractionation. Not pointing fingers... just what some folks think why there is a high number.

I think graft fractionation means counting the number of follicles within the unit ?

I go by the number of actual incisions made in the reciepient area.

Cliff had 3000 individual follicular unit insertions.

As he was a NW 6 and there was no hairline, when this was re created only follicular units consisting of 1 and 2 follicles were used.

Behind the hairline, 2 and 3 follicles per unit, and toward the crown, mainly triplets were inserted.

So Cliff had 3000 incisions, which was about 7,000 to 8,000 actual hair, most of which grew.

Can FUE generate more follicles than strip IN A GIVEN DONOR?

That depends upon who is doing it.

I can only speak for myself and give my own opinion here. And my answer is yes, absolutely.

Yeah well, its very good growth for 300 but considering the realestate he has to cover he will need twice that for it to look natural in my opinion.
This still looks like a HT to me.
Nobody thins out like that naturally

Very good results, homerun !
Look at the guys donor bank. He has got over average thick hair, over average density. I am sure he could produce another 3000 grafts.
