lower left : immediately after implanten 2000 grafts (2 days)

Some might think the shaving was extreme.

I can see why she opted for the shaved head.

1. Shaving the head cleanses the soul. (This is my opinion. I have shaved my head a couple of times this year)
2. Shaving her head provided an accurate way to distribute grafts into any devoid areas.
3. The grafts can grow in together with the resident hair. Friends and family might not notice she had a transplant.
4. Provides safety to the grafts... hair won't stick to the graft and accidentally pull out grafts.
5. Shaving provides ease to clean the grafts daily.

That's it I think. Good work Bverotti.

Can you tell me why the derm needed to give the OK for this? Because the patient was a woman? And if so, why ?

She probably went to the derm to rule out anything that a general practitioner pmay miss. Although I do not know the way the EU does primary care vs specialist.

Does everyone have to be examined by a derm before they can get a hair transplant?

In the USA that would be no. There are no stipulations that a person has to see a dermatologist before going to see an HT doctor. As far as the European Union, I really don't know if they need to see a derm. first. I worked in Belgium in HT and I never heard anyone mention that.

Not necessary. Most European clinics do not require that either. However, many clinics (especially in the US) require at least a blood test before you proceed with the procedure.

In general, women are not good candidates for hair transplant. Some doctors insist that the female patient be examined by an endocrinologist and have the full lab panels on hormones and thyroid etc before they will even meet with them for a thorough consultation.

I like the hairline placement, it looks very natural.
