actor heath ledger losing hair/found dead/probable suicide... (Support & General Discussions)

I wonder if there's a relation between his hairloss and his (probable) suicide. For example, his woman left him. If she left him because he's getting less attractive (due to hair loss) that his suicide is hairloss related. If he killed himself because he wants her back but can't get her back because he's missing hair then that's hairloss-related. If he killed himself because he lost his one woman and figures that due to baldness he can't end up happy with a different woman then that is hairloss-related. If he killed himself because he's depressed about his hairloss then that is hairloss related.

Wow...some posters in here no doubt exhibit signs of neurosis. You honestly think this guy died because he was balding? Only a bald man will ever conjure up such unfathomably absurd hypothesis.Hmmm, Rudy Giuliani is a pretty bald man, maybe he was responsible for 911...one never knows with these bald men.

That dude died because his life was in the sh*tter and he accidentally took too many pills. It's unfortunate, but I'm not gonna start assuming MPB was responsible for any real portion of that.

If this is how we're gonna think, then we might as well hold Tom Cruise's short height responsible for his going off the deep end with Scientology too.

I did not say that Heath Ledger did in fact die of hairloss. I simply said that he may have. We don't have all the facts yet. More facts are starting to emerge this morning and it is starting to look like it may have been an accidental overdose or not. We don't have enough facts yet.

Information coming out today suggests two things: 1. The death may have accidental because Heath Ledger got used to taking extra sleeping pills while working on the movie Batman. 2. He may have also been using other drugs because some people, Jack Nicholson included, warned Mr. Ledger to stop using drugs.

Let's assume that, as you stated, he took too many pills accidentally because his life was in the shitter then why isn't it possible that his life was in the shitter because of his hairloss? Can't hairloss put a man's life into the shitter? And if he died because his life was in the shitter, and if it was hairloss that put his life in the shitter, then doesn't that mean that it was hairloss that killed him. Now, I admit that we need to get more facts because right now there is credible evidence out there that he died of an accidental overdose.

Can people potentially become suicidal over hair loss?
Sure.

Was Heath Ledger's death related to his hair loss?
I really, really, REALLY doubt it.

The dude had relatively mild loss at 28yo, he wasn't even getting HTs or taking major steps to cover it up yet, and real future hair loss treatments are looking more likely by the year. A dead guy with MPB doesn't mean MPB helped cause his death.

yeah proves that google is indeed a powerful search engine. You can basically find anything on google, type "suicide due to job loss" and you will find some accounts of people who committed suicide because they lost their job. Using the 'ledger' logic, suppose a man dies while hes searching for a job and was fired some times earlier, will we automatically assume he committed suicide because he was fired? Not to mention that a "chick" losing her hair isn't the same as a man losing his hair with regards to emotional trauma.

You're part right. You're right that he was young and promising new treatments look close and I also really really REALLY doubt that his death is related to hairloss...a dead guy with MPB doesn't mean that MPB caused his death. OK. We agree on all that stuff...but...he did cover up with a hat a lot and he was missing a lot of hair, not a little hair.

I kind of agree with some of what you've said, but not all of what you've said. I think hairloss is equally hard on both sexes. If anything I think the guys might actually be taking it worse. I've read stories about guys attempting suicide over hairloss, and even succeeding at it...killing themselves over hairloss.

Well maneless, society places different expectations on females as appose to males. Do you wake up and shave your legs in the morning? Do you spend 2 hours just to 'look presentable' before you leave the house? Do you wear lipstick, blush, eyeliner etc. etc. etc.? Its not like there is some divine law that differentiated men from women by the virtue of make-up application. Women do it because its expected of them to be the "beautiful' of the genders. Having said that, do you still believe its harder on men to be bald? Who will you stare at the longest with pity, a bald man walking in a store of a slick bald 22 year old woman?

The difference is that males are essentially expected to just grin & bear it. Wearing hair is a source of jokes. And the necessary hairpiece attention/maintennce is just generally more trouble than a man is expected to tolerate on a daily basis.

If wigs were this unacceptable for women, we'd see a hell of a lot more hair-related suicides among them.

And as for Heath Ledger, he wasn't losing a ton.

He looked like a thinning NW#3 at worst. NW#2 is not even considered "hair loss" yet and the scale goes all the way up to #7.

When we guys lose our hair it damages our lives and we are expected to just grin and bear it. Women don't like crying men. So women don't like us because we're bald and if we are upset about it they don't understand or feel sympathy for us or care to save us. OTOH, women are allowed to be injurred and feel upset. A lady at a hair salon recently told me about some bald woman who came in to her shop in tears. The men who work with the bald girl brought her into the shop because she was crying at work about her hairloss. If i was to let on to the women at work that I'm upset about hairloss and cry about it they would get after me big time and they would not feel any sympathy for me and they would not care that I was hurt. They would make me out to be an idiot. Meanwhile, just like I don't like the way bald women look the women I work with don't like the way bald men look. So basically we are in the same boat as women when it comes to our lives being damaged by hairloss but bald crying women are saved and cared for whereas bald crying men are disdained and ridiculed.

Go easy on him, Hangin. He suffers from multiple personality syndrome, and this is clearly a new personality. It is quite possible that this personality doesn't remember what the others have done. Personally, I don't think its a good idea to give him access to computers, and if his handlers weren't depraved sex-fiends who trade favors for 'net time, maybe he wouldn't be allowed to post. But until he stops trading his ass for access, we're stuck with him and all his personalities. The guy's a crazy, balding, middle-aged, Eastern-european man-whore. Take pity on him.

Oh no! He's resorted to spellcheck! A classic forum concession. It means he has been completely defeated.

Wha? That's the best you can do? Spellchecks and rebound insults? Go away. We're done with you.

no , retard douchebag

I dont go around spell checking people, but If I did, I certainly would not claim superiority on the spelling of a mental retard term, as you did........

that set you up as a target, but you are too stupid to understand the irony, if you even know what irony means. look it up retard

for that word, dimentia
he doesnt need spell check

he hears it so often, and sees it written on so much correspondence,

it is also often mentioned when he is hauled into court for his monthly evaluation

Your honor, Please go easy on my client, he suffers from Dimentia :rotfl: , but that is the least of his problems. He is also psychotic, manic depressive, and borderline schizo
