	We are receiving an increasing number of requests for global restoration from severely bald patients who desire their work to be substantially completed in 1 clinic visit. For these group of highly informed and discerning patients, the following is often the objective: 1. Global restoration would entail coverage of the entire NW6 area (crown included) to a NW 0-1 hairline. 2. The absence of cosmetically visible scarring that negates the ability to crew cut the hair in the future. 3. The ability to groom hair in the future in all styles without any restrictions. 4. Donor preservation: The ability to harvest donor areas in the future should the need arises, in event of progression to NW 7 and beyond. Over harvesting of head donors is to be avoided. 5. The absence of cosmetically significant body scarring. These objectives cannot be contemplated using head hair donor alone or using knife- involved methods. Using SFET, we have done these cases often with ~3500 head donor areas and the addition of non scalp hair. We have found body hair to serve the key role of imparting filler effects in these cases. The foregoing is a patient that underwent a 15, 000 grafts procedure 5 months ago. John P, It means that taken in the context of the typical pool of patients living in the United States that consult me (Caucasians of Northern/West European descent) , the body hair characteristics of KF is middle of the road. Such body hair (Average) is suitable for BHT using the SFET protocol. Some patients have above average body hair characteristics (better) than that seen in KF. From our patient pool, we find that on the average such great body hair qualities occur most commonly amongst patients with ancestral ties to Southern Europe, the Middle East and Indian subcontinent. Patients of Native / Meso American and Far Eastern descent (China, Japan, Korea etc) typically have below average body hair quality and/or quantity. Quality is interpreted in terms of hair characteristics that are useful in determining suitability for BHT. Regards S. 	I'm doing the scar and then some temple work with whatever is leftover. I'm using beard and scalp. Depending how it goes I can take the whole summer off if I want because I'm a teacher. That's why I usually have procedures in the summer. No worries about explanations. I still had scabs on my head when I went back to work. I want to plan this properly this time around. For example, lets say this guy has great body hair characteristics and we don't see his pictures. The unknowing potential customer might think that he would get the same result even though this new customer has terrible body hair characteristics. 	Really amazing results. My only source of hair would be the beard and not really that many hairs. I wonder how I would look with 6000 beard hair in my head. Probably much better than now. This could be construed as 1 clinic visit -or 9 clinic vsits by some since the patient went back and forth his hotel from across the road 9 times or 1 session which others may consider 9 sessions since the sugery was adjourned 9 times after each day's work The patient flew to my Redondo beach location from out of town only once and I promise he did not leave until all 15,417 grafts were successfully transfered. We have found improvements to occur even at the 18 month mark in some BHT patients. Most significant improvement tends to be registered by the 9-12th month. Most of the later improvement stems from the maturation of the newly grown body hair which could be vellous looking initially. regards, S.
