One thing I'm going to do is this... (Cosmetic Thickener & Volumizer)

I have my brother coming out here on vacation the next two weeks. This will make it difficult for me to be able to post as I'm going to busy showing him around. However, during the next few weeks I'm going to post the names and claims of some of the hair volumizers/thickeners on the market to ask for assistance in these things.

There are hundreds of them so I'm only going to post the names of the ones that seem to have some credibility. Even if I just post the names of the ones that seem to have some credibility there will still be a lot of them.

So watch for this exciting post listing some of the more popular volumizers and thickeners. It will not necessarily be the ones you all have heard of. I'm talking about shampoos, "treatments", and other products like that.

I see them in expensive hair salons. For example, there's one called sebastion that I used to use a few years ago and it was somewhat effective. As best as I can remember Sebastion is a product you spray on after you wash your hair, get out of the shower, and towel dry your hair. I would like to find a better volumizer though because while sebastion did make my hair look thicker it also kind of flattened my hair out. It was a pink spray. although that was about 3 -4 years ago so color may have changed. I think some people with slight thinning would be pleasantly surprised with this product. My thinning isn't slight though so it isn't my solution. My thinning is about moderate so I need something a little bit better.

Maneless...I'm trying to understand your fixation with volumizers. I won't call them thickeners...that's just silly.

You actually think this volumizer post will be "exciting"???????? OK...

I wonder what you are doing in an attempt to correct your hair loss instead of trying to mask it as if you're fooling anybody.

What about something like Toppik or what ever that hair spray paint is called.
Wouldn't that be more effective for you?

If you don't like the idea of a volumizer/thickener forum then just ignore the thread. It's not a fixation. It's just smart to consider volumizers and thickeners. That product I used, Sebastion, actually worked somewhat. I was kind of impressed with it. There are lots of others out there and some other one might be even better. The technology involved in these things is pretty nifty.

I think that in cases like mine where the person still has hair on his head then a volumizer can give significant improvement without actually putting fake hair on one's head. Again, Sebastion did create an illusion of significantly more hair on my head. Some of these products actually work. We should be thinking about them and talking about them.

I am going to be starting a new treatment soon and that is another reason I'm looking at volumizers/thickeners. You see, if I can get even a little more real regrowth from my new treatment then if I also add a volumizer to the mix the volumizer might actually finish off the problem and create the illusion of a full head of hair

I would not be intereseted in spray painting my head. Going back to Sebastion would be better than that. I would just like to find a volumizer/thickener that is more satisfying than the Sebastion product.

I ordered toppik but never got it. I have no idea how effective it is.
