It is said to be rather good. because of a substance whose name is equol. (Bioflavonoids, I believe). But I am no specialist.

photoestrogen |
It is an important question, one that I have been wrestling with since reading articles provided by posters here and elsewhere: whether or not to stop using supplements which have photoestrogenic activity, like soy and fo-ti.
I have used soy, with less than average results. But I like fo-ti (shen min), because of its other properties unrelated to hair loss (such as energy, stamina). But I have decided to stop using it...for now, and see what kind of effect this has on my hair.
At present, I am taking just maca and vitamin E (specifically, tocotrienols).

I've been using fo-ti as well for the past year and a half. I do not see any anti hairloss effect (or then it is neglectable and helpless when I ease off DHT inhibitors), nor any anti grey, nor any energetic effect.
I take maca as well. Do you find this one has pro libido effects? I don't.
Where do you get your tocotrienols from?

Shen Min has a Fo-Ti extract. 12:1 ratio. So it's much more powerful than just raw Fo-Ti, which actually may have been to my detriment, assuming that this means there is more estrogenic activity present in the extract form.
Conversely, Maca should be taken in its natural raw form, not as an extract, to obtain its benefits related to hair loss.
I use TOCO-SORB from Jarrows.

since it is a milk or cheese byproduct, thus similar to animal protein or actually animal protein, i would say its a complete protein but not to be overdone
animal protein is ok but not in excess, if it is taken in excess it causes uric acid to flood the bloodstream and causes a lot of shedding

Even those that say soy is ok stress to use/take FERMENTED soy/soy products.
And there's nothing wrong with whey. There are so many positives on whey there's just no whey I'd give it up in any whey. Owhey?

They do make such a thing(or you can make it yourself), but most out there are not fermented. It would say on the package if it is.
