This is from their website: ICX-TRC Product description ICX-TRC consists of a suspension of autologous dermal papilla (DP) cells. These cells are able to stimulate the generation of new hairs when injected into the scalp in close proximity to the epidermal cells which generate the hair. It is intended that ICX-TRC will be used by specialists in hair transplant centres, dermatologists and plastic surgeons to treat patients with hair thinning or hair loss. Clinical development We have now completed the treatment phase of our Phase II study, being conducted by Dr Bessam Farjo in Manchester, to optimise the delivery of the DP cells. In this study, hair counts are obtained by shaving and photographing a small section of scalp, injecting it and then applying a specialised image analysis system to provide a total hair count. All 19 subjects in the trial have now been treated using a range of injection and scalp pre-stimulation techniques; the first 6 subjects were injected without stimulation of the scalp. In the remaining 13 the resident hair producing (epithelial) cells were stimulated at the time of delivery of the DP cells. 11 subjects have now passed the 24-week time point since treatment and specialised image analysis at this time point showed: • Of the group of 6 patients without stimulation of the scalp, 3 had an increased hair count and two had a reduced hair count; one has been lost to follow-up. • Of the 5 subjects with pre-treatment scalp stimulation, all had increased hair count at 12 weeks and the 3 who were evaluable at 24 weeks all had an increased hair count at that time point. . These data are consistent with the earlier data reported last September and the hypothesis that new hair production is improved by pre-stimulation of the scalp, leading to an interaction between the injected cells and the resident hair producing cells. 24 week data on all subjects in the trial will be available in September 2008 and at the end of the trial photographic data will be analysed from a much larger area of treated scalp on all subjects at 48 weeks. Commercial opportunity ICX-TRC overcomes one of the principal drawbacks of conventional transplants which is that the outcome is limited by the amount of donor hair available. By using the Intercytex cell therapy technique almost limitless hair regeneration is possible in a less invasive procedure. 	Research is done. Is not dangerous and they can grow hair in thinning areas. This is a FACT. But they are getting different results in different people. like propecia or minox do. I think they are saying that they want MONEY and they are not going to expend more in trials. Instead they want someone to pay and start using their tecnology. This is a smart movement IMHO that can make ICX go to the market EARLIER. Two sub-groups of five subjects each were injected with DP cells using different delivery techniques. 	» It's Follica or nothing. Hold your horses guys! Maybe there is some hope! I think that they have had this agenda long before these tests. They said before that they will commerlialize (early commerlization) the TRC before phase IIb or phase III (2008-2009). They said that the Bosley has the option. Maybe the are in the point that they need the partner and it´s money and other resources and more patients with their money to treat and that way test the TRC with more people (= more results). They are looking the partner right now (Bosley or some other company) because it will be ready when these phase II trials are over (maybe late 2008 early 2009). But it looks like they also expect the rest of the development to commercialization to be a challenge Maybe they foresee the need for a much larger operation to do the gruntwork of refining the procedure. Guys, all FIVE MEN who had their scalp "pre-stimulated" (maybe something like Follica, maybe not, who knows) had increased haircounts.................and the three of the five that they were able to check at 24 weeks (6 months) also had increased haircounts, and the two they couldn't get in the clinic almost assuredly did to. All this shows is that PRE-STIMULATION really helps the procedure along. They were only getting 50% success without pre-stimulation, but appear to be having 100% success with it. Its hard to believe that "out there in the world" this would not translate into at least --some-- success for anyone who had the procedure done once or twice at the most. In short my friends...............we have a hair grower!It grows hair---whether by revitilization or de noveau hair growth I dont know, but its from taking cells from the donor area and injecting them after multiplication to balding scalp, so its very different than minoxidil or finasteride......Its inejecting donor area genetics into recipient area hair, producing increased hair counts. My one word of caution is................how MUCH more hair did they grow? That is the big question. I wish they put up pictures for us and am going to email them asking for them (but dont expect anything in response). MORE GOOD NEWS........You guys can be on finasteride, the trialees were NOT ON FINASTERIDE. In other words, your results whether be it on fluridil, finasteride, revivogen, tricomin, AJSC-9 or whatever will almost assuredly be BETTER than the trialees... MORE GOOD NEWS STILL......nobody said you only have to get TRC ONE TIME............you could get it, and a year or so later........get it again and see if it thickens up even more. This is not bad news folks. The product worked in all men with pre-stimulated scalps and increased hair counts. They may not turn you into David Beckham overnight, but with ensuing sessions, maybe they can. About further research...............they are selling their research to Aderans (Bosley) in all probability or offering for someone (Aderans) to help fund their phase 3 trial and perhaps come in and help them with it. If Aderans thinks they can improve the procedure, they will attempt it. ICX obviously believes the product they have is sellable RIGHT NOW as it is. ICX, being a small company and very cash poor, isn't in the position to do a phase three trial ALONE unless they can borrow alot of money to do so (we are talking about nearly a hundred million dollars). Why would they do that if they feel like what they have beats anything else (finasteride and minoxidil and a HT all together) now? They dont, hence they are willing to cash out and sell it to Aderans now. The only bad news will be if Aderans doesnt buy it or isn't willing to help fund or partner with ICX for furhter trials. If Aderans just puts it down and doesn nothing, in which case everyone has a right to be pissed off. Im betting that in a few weeks, we will hear that negotiations are taking place between Aderans and ICX for purchace of TRC or sponsorship of their trials or a partnership in a more extensive phase three trial. WHat I really hope to see is that Aderans feels this product is marketable and Bosley will be offering it soon...... 	This is true benji, they have not failed and are still pursing phase II to finish it up and sell it. I think people really need to look at what happened with ICX-PRO. They tried running ICX-PRO phase III on a shoe string budget the first time and the FDA slapped and told them to get more trialists. They don't have much money to begin with so I mean in a sense its no surprise. Phase III is the most expensive phase to do and if they can't skip phase III and go to market then as we see they are screwed. So I think we need to hope that someone properly funds them to complete a phase III and markets it relatively soon.
