For those who have used it, please help: Topical Dutasteride (Propecia, Spiro, DHT & hormones ...)

How did you "make" it -- assuming you concocted your own?

Was it as effective as oral?

Were you able to avoid some of the side effects of the oral or was it absorbed into the bloodstream with exactly the same results? The primary side effects I am referring to are the sexual ones.

I know a lot of people on HairSite are anti-Dut, but I am looking for people that are willing to highlight positive experiences, if they've had those.

From a thread on regrowth.com:

"Squeeze the liquid contained in a capsule of Avodard 0.5 mg into 30 grams of Aloe vera gel and mix all. then put the mixture on your wet head ( to do under the shower) for 3 minutes and massage, then wash with shampoo. "

If you like, I have the full thread. Give me your email adress or PM it to me and I'll send it to you.

Thanks a lot BRM. I don't know how to PM here; how about you send it to: framirez_haas at yahoo.com. Much appreciated.

I'd be very surprised if it was possible to get Dut to work on the skin w/o systemic absorption. If Dut could actually be used this way, then I don't think anybody would be bothering to mess with RU58841.

Agreed. That makes intuitive sense. However, my question is about relative effectiveness. The dosage I take orally suppresses serum levels about 30% more than scalp levels. I am wondering though if it were applied directly on the scalp if more suppression would take place on the scalp. That's what I am getting at. I don't mind if that also involves systemic reduction.

That's a very good question.

I don't know if anybody will have a very solidly-backed answer for that one.

I did 3or 4 days ago. It seems you didn't receive it. Are you sure this email adress of yours is correct?

Oops: it went into my spam box. I retrieved it from there. Thanks a lot! That looks great.
