gossypol inhibited 99 and 100% of alpha five reductase in WHOLE CELL asssays, but its only about 1/10 of 1% of cottonseed oil..................so its something that is hard to get a hold of in any large enough amount. If you could make a topical out of it, you'd have to extract it out of ALOT of cottonseed oil to get a solution that was merely 2% gossypol.......
