Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton: Do you like them or hate them (Off Topic) |
I hate them with a passion. It has nothing to do with their skin color either. If they were white I would hate them just the same. I hate what they did to Imus and I hate how they use the race card to get what they want. I don't know if you know this but our very own Widowspeak is a big Jackson/Sharpton supporter and apparently worked on Jesse's campaign team back in the day so this explains why he always uses his "I'm Jewish" you can't say that crap everytime somebody doesn't agree with him. Widows obviously learned how to do this from two of the best. How about anybody else's thoughts on these two.

Now to add to the brilliant posts by Kramer and Hangin ...Reverend Racist, I mean Al Sharpton, is now crying the race blues saying it is not fair that Paris Hilton got out of jail after 3 days to be on home detention.
I'm waiting now for Big Al to show up anywhere he can find TV cameras to protest Paris' early release. He won't go anywhere unless a TV camera is around.

I think the stuff imus said was racist, and it was even vulgar and slanderous because he called them whores (when he said "hos" while also alluding to them as black in a derogatory way (when he called them "nappy headed". And the way he used the term "hos" to categorize those women plus the fact that he doesn't even know those women, demonstrates that to Imus all African American women are whoares. After all, if he doesn't even have to know an African Women in order to be sure that she's a whore then he must just assume that all African American women are whores.
I think you must hate African Americans due to their skin color or else you would unerstand that it is totally reasonable for any black person, Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton included, to protest the racially vulgar statements made by Imus. Decent caucasians should also denounce Imus for his racially vulgar statements.

They were correct in saying that Imus made racist remarks. And Imus's remarks were even worse than Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton said. Because in Sharpton's and Jackson view Imus just made racist remarks against those black female basketball players, but in reality Imus made vulgar racist remarks against all black women, and one could make a good and reasonable case that Imus's remarks were vulgar racist remarks against the all black people, not just black women.

I would be more ashamed of supporting republicans who take us into needless unjustifiable wars, support intolerance/inequality, run up our deficits/national debt, and short-change people with medical conditions. For example, most bankruptcies are the result of people not being able to pay their bills due to health problems, and most homeless people are people with mental health problems. Republicans could care less. Republicans just want to war-monger, give tax breaks to the rich, keep minorities down, and give people with medical conditions the short end of the stick. They even went to wreck the entire planet with their idiotic global warming and they want to reduce, maybe even eliminate, social secuity benefits to America's elderly.

Now you put words in my mouth because I never said it was OK for blacks to call black women whores. In fact, I am sick of black men calling black women these kind of names. But this is the first you have asked me my opinion about that. We have been discussing Imus, not what black men say about black women. I think that the black men who call black women hos are gang types, not peace-loving nine-to-fiver types. My next door neighbor is an African American and he hands out liturature about his church to strangers. I personally am not interested in that stuff, but I do believe he is a good man. I know him personally and I can't imagine that he ever refers to his wife, or any other woman, as a ho. But he is not one of these gangsta types. OTOH I think Adam "Pacman" Jones and Michael Vick probably both refer to black women as hos, and i think there a couple of thugs who should get significant jail time.

I am not black, but I denounce Imus and I think he should be fired and I think he should not get any money in any settlement and I think he should be removed from the air for awhile...probably a year or two. He should be punished for this type of behavior. This type of behavior promotes racism, and we need to overcome racism. That aside, I also think we need to start finding some kind of way to punish these black goon gangsta types who are calling women hos and stuff like that. These guys are a general menace out there. Have you noticed that some cities are starting to punish guys who wear their pants hanging down revealing their underwear. Some cities are punishing these people by putting them in jail (6 months) and/or fines and counseling about what direction their life is going in. I approve to a degree, however, the ACLU is making an issue of it saying that it targets black people. You see, intentionally wearing your pants hanging down enough to expose your underwear is kind of lewd and indecent. They do this out in public and children are walking around out there. I think the government should be allowed to crack down on this sh!t because it's sort of exposing themselves, and the government should be allowed to prevent people from exposing themselves. It's not showing skin. It's showing underwear, but the underwear it is showing is kind of a part way exposing of one's self in my view, so I think that some punishment is reasonable. It's called underwear because it is supposed to be "under" not on top...not visible. And since under wear is "underwear" it has a sexual flavor to it. For example, do you think that a woman dressed in only a bra and underpanties is a more sexually provocative image than a woman wearing a dress or wearing jeans and a blouse. Which image to you seems more more titilating? OTOH these stupid department stores advertise women wearing bras and panties in their darn windows. I think that should stop to because it gives these guys wearing their pants down past their underwear the ability to say to the judge, "Hey you can see men and women in underwear in advertisements on the windows of department stores.

I'm not desperate about these issues, but I do have my opinion. BTW my detractors also express their opinions when it comes to things that bother them. The main difference between they and I is that they are bothered by things that racists are bothered by and I am not. You see, I don't hate Jessee Jackson or Al Sharpton because I view them as activists and I think it is the role of an activist to advocate a position. I don't hate the former Jerry Falwell (although I disagree with him on just about everything) because I think he was an activist and it is the role of an activist to advocate for a position and that is what he did. While I do not hate any activists I do agree (at least to a degree) with some activists on their issue whereas I disagree with other activists (at least to a degree) on their issue. I don't hate any of them. It is just different people expressing the different sides of an issue is how I see it.
OTOH I am sure that Texas Tool, and his ilk, "like" the activist Jerry Falwell, Hannity, Laura Ingram and that other blonde chick, but Texas Tool, and his ilk, literally hate activists like Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton. You see they like the activists they like in large part because those activists are out to get black people whereas they hate the activists they hate in large part because those activists want to help black people get equality. It is all about suppressing black people and getting black people for Texas Tool and his ilk.
My detractors, yourself included, go around looking for things to find upsetting and offensive at least as much as I do. I'm not a tree hugger, but I don't have anything against those people trying to save the redwoods. The redwoods are cool looking. I've seen them a couple times. They're beautiful. They're the largest living things that have ever been on earth and they're thousands of years old. The very ones that are standing today were here when Christ was here. They've survived lots of stuff including direct hits by tidal waves (tsunamis). I think it would be sad if we wiped them out so everyone could have a nice deck. I think we should harvest sparingly and carefully so that they are constantly replenished and there will always be redwoods.
Now I'm not going to trouble myself with climbing one of them to protect them beause I have other things to do. But if some committed person wants to climb one to protect it that is fine with me. I guess you want to wipe them all out just like you want to wipe out the ozone and heat up the planet until the tempurature rised 20 degrees. You snicker about the polar bears need to find their own ice, but there are two things you haven't thought of:
1. The world is getting hotter, including the south where you live and it is taking a toll on southern people. There's a justice to that because you are the redeneck goons voting for the candidates who keep warming the planet via global warming.
2. It is the polar bears ice up there that we are melting. They were here before humans and so it is their habitat. Now of course we can take it from them and I understand that, but that is exactly what it would amount to - us taking it from them. And you don't care if we do that because you're ignorant and foolhardy and you don't think about all the little facts, details, and consequences. One of the consequences is a good one - the rising tempurature in the south. Cook redneck cook! Burn bigot burn!!!!!

your assumptions about me are incorrect, but I fundamentally disagree with you about affirmative action - I believe in a meritocracy, I do not think special pleading (or any form of discrimination except on ability) achieves anything except division. The world cannot be made to be completely fair, but providing everybody at least gets a real chance to make their way then that is probably the best we will ever do.
Regardless of the rights and wrongs of your particular views (which of course you have every right to express) I do think you come across as a very angry and bitter man who purposely seeks conflict here to vent. I hope you find help to overcome this in the future.
