Patient had double flap as well as scalp reduction procedures done in the past with another clinic. He is left with severe pitting in frontal sclap and very unsightly scalp reduction scars in the crown. Temples and half of the sides are absent, having been displaced by multiple scalp reduction procedures. There is also an island of abmormally angled hair from prior surgeries.
Dr. Umar performed 3 repair procedures on him, each at approximately 6 months interval. The goal is to remove the pluggy hairline and reconstitute the entire head hair natural pattern using primarily body hair.

Yeah. Brilliant comparison. Dr Umar can ALSO make a NW4 look like a NW0 using the same amount of SCALP HAIR grafts. I was a 4 and I'm down to at least a 1 by him using only 4600.
But what would Hasson and Wong's response been had THIS guy walked in one day and said "I wanna look like Fabio?"
Their collective jaws would hit the ground at how truly useless they are in this sort of situation. The only thing they'd be qualified to do is show him the door and hand him a map to Dr Umar's! So don't bring other clinics into this that are clearly incapable of even talking to this guy, let alone fixing him!

Thanks for posting those SFSG. Looking at these, I would guess that the areas would take about 12,000 scalp FUs including the large temple point areas and repair of the occipital. That kind of adds up to 22,000 fine body hairs with slightly thinner coverage. Clearly this could not have been acheived by any kind of scalp HT.
Do you remember Zydan, I think his case was at least as chalanging. He had also had this kind of experience with flaps, posibly even worse which is crazy! I don't know what happened to him.

This patient was WAY worse off than a typical NW4 on a virgin scalp.
H&W couldn't possibly fix this guy with more strip surgery.
They would refer him to Dr. Umar. ; )
This is the worst repair case I've ever seen.
This patient had multiple strip scars, scalp reduction scars, flap scars and I believe balloon expansion and recent z-plasty (yet more scars).
The temples and sides of his head were rebuilt.
The top was filled in (many scars).
The back was reconstructed (all those scars filled in).
The hairline was rebuilt to NW0 (in and around flap scars).
Anyway, some of us have debated this case before.

IMO, the yield looks excellent.
It took 1000 legs hair grafts to nicely soften my HT hairline from 1992.
I'd say this patient needed coverage 20 times the area I had worked on... and then some.
Easily.
1000 head-hair grafts can bolster a receding hairline OR cover one medium size strip scar OR rebuild the temples. Tops. You can't begin to cover a crown with 1000 grafts.
Just one minor repair patient's opinion.

It doesn't concern you unless you need major repair. Most doctors use BH for repair, I don't see how a virgin scalp would need that many grafts.

Anyone who thinks BHT is a scam should have his head examined. But on the other hand, BHT is far from what people really want from a hair transplant. Let's face it, BHT hair can look weird and unnatural.

I don't mean to undermine this tremendous acheivement or the tremendous cosmetic improvement for this guy. This is a life changing surgery. The reason for bringing up the numbers is that it is a reminder of what is needed for BHT into scar since BHT already needs high numbers. It is also an oporation out of the financial reach of many posteres even givern the reasonable prices of DR. Umar and certainly with others.
As for the hairline, this is something that Dr. Umar can broach. There is no less reason to comment on this than in any other case.

I don't think he needs toppik, maybe grow his hair a bit longer is all he needs. I actually want to see what the body hair looks like when they are longer.
