Dr Farjo said that his team was also experimenting with combining the DP cells with keratinocytes – the cells that produce keratin, the basic building material of hair – so that they could grow actual hairs for transplant, rather than injectable cells. This could further improve surgeons’ control over the amount, direction and appearance of the transplanted hair, he said.

Does this mean ICX is working on this also???

Yes, I have read this before. ICX is suppossedly working in creating hairs in a petri dish for transplantation. Let me look up... yes, they are the "proto-hairs":

If this is true, this would mean that the initial TRC project sucks big time, and that is why they are looking into alternatives like dermabrasion of growing protohairs in a petri dish. Quite discouraging.

Proof that ICX doesn’t work.Proof that they cannot control the density nor the direction of the new hairs that are growing from cells.I can’t understand why they didn’t focus on the idea of growing actual hairs as a solution as opposed to this b.s cell injection. If they had persued this far more logical option then we would all be transplanting an infinite amount of grafts into our heads & scars by now. ICX are a joke. After they waste our time AGAIN in September we will never hear from them again in this field. They will vanish like Aderans.

WHY? because hair transplants are expensive. Culturing and growing actual hairs wouldn't be any cheaper than a conventional FUE procedure (in fact, it would probably cost more than conventional FUE). You're replacing a single doctor harvesting your head with a lab staff (and the overhead associated with their work).

Sure this concept seems like the logical next step to conventional hair transplants... but this sort-of technology will limit itself to a select few wealthy individuals. We want to see something for the masses NOT just a few people with massive amounts of money.

I agree, the more labor the greater the cost. Why do you think certain HTP docs refuse to use hair techs? So they can charge a fortune ! How do you know that hm will be cheaper then a HTP?
Nobody knows if it will be cheaper because they can’t even get the friggin thing to work.
How much money is ICX going to charge to multiply the cells? They aren’t going to do it for free. Is the doc who is going to inject the cells into your head going to charge you per injection? Will we require thousands of injections for a full head of hair? Thousands of injections cannot be done by 1 doctor alone so he will have assistants which will inflate the cost of each procedure.

If pigs fly & hm is released,do you seriously think that docs won’t find a way to make huge profits of a product that is in such high demand? Look what damage these assholes are doing with surgery just to make money, what do you think they will do with hm?
Do you seriously believe that someone like Bosley is not going to charge a fortune for this? HM will probably be for the super rich & it will be a while before competition brings the price down.
Keep dreaming buddy, all these naive opinions have done so much harm to this forum it’s no wonder why it’s longest members have left.
