Here we have a repair case from Dr Bisanga, the gentleman had plugs and poor distribution in the hair line and crown with poor yield from his previous surgery.

His hair characteristics and density worked against him a little and his hair loss stage and future hair loss had to be taken into consideration to repair the previous work but not act too aggressively and also leave the donor in reserve for future work, The hair line and temple points were reconstructed and designed to frame the face better and the crown was given a light coverage as well as having some old plugs removed and redistributed.

The total FU count was 3149 FUT/Strip and 923 FUE & 75 plugs removed
Pictures are pre op, post op placement and 11 months post op taken outdoors in natural light by the patient.

I was planning to call you to see how you feel about mixed strip / FUE in a single session. Could you let me know how you feel about it generally. You did not mention it as an option at my consult. Hope you are all doing well at BHR!

Just for clarification to other posters; I just received an Email from Phil (BHR). FAST SERVICE!!!

He reminded me that they sent me an Email after my consult and it did clearly state that they can combine FUE and strip in a single session and did actually suggest this as an option.

Hi marco,

You beat me to posting.

In the right circumstances we feel it is a good option, we mainly use for repair cases when the donor has been impaired but no reason why it cannot be used on a virgin scalp when max hair wants to be transferred, or the donor is limited with Strip. Generally on larger procedure we will max with a strip, say 4000 plus, allow it to grow out and then assess with the patient where we go from there; then it is more common we will combine the two techniques in a second procedure.

Therapy,

I am waiting on pictures of the donor, I do know he has more in the bank for at least one more procedure with Strip and then another small FUE. We do not intend to max his donor next procedure, always trying to leave a reserve for that rainy day.

Hi therapy,
