Considering a Transplant, would like to hear forum members opinions. (Hair Transplant)

I have been told that i'm a NW 2V. I have been on propecia for nearly 2 years. I'm looking to hear experienced forum members opinions on how many grafts would be needed to close my temporal points. I want to state that I am not looking for an unatural looking, low hairline. I would be happy with a more natural, masculine looking V, however I really can't live with the shape of my left temple. Anyways on to the pics.

Hey Minitor, I work for patient care for the Armani clinic, Just to give you an idea I have posted some examples below, I would say there is something that can be done for you. Check out the patient below who just posted in the other thread, he had similar recession as you did and is now sporting a nice new hairline.

Check out the thread below.

Research is the key, this is a good place to start, choose the doctor whos results you like the best, don't let travel be a factor.

Hey Minitor - Just get yourself on medication, see how that works out before you do anything, you've a lot of hair anyway - Remember once you have them little bits done, you'll have to keep getting hair transplant,as you lose even more hair over time.

Hey Baldie42 thanks for the quick reply, I have been on propecia for nearly 2 years now, I have noticed my hairloss come to a stop and even noticed some thickening up, I should have taken some before propecia pics back then. I won't be jumping into anything without a great deal of research, starting with forum members (who could be more experienced).

Obviousely don't even think about strip. I think 1500 to 2000 Fu's using FUE would do the trick. I would think twice about it but you probably allready have done. There are a good number of surgeons that can deal with this depending on where you live. For you I think ensuring good angulation is important and don't over do the density but more importantly don't lower the hairline more than you outlined. Just my thoughts as a poster.

Hey. I am a guy like you who wanted a hair transplant pretty young. I got it and I'm happy I did. But if I could do it again, I would have done just a few things differently. First of all, I definitely, wouldn't have gotten strip. Seems dumb not to pay extra to avoid the scar. Especially young guys like us who still have years of hair loss left.

Also, I would look into Avodart. Yes it has more side effects than propecia, but it may work better. Who knows? You have to try to see what it does for you. I would try and buy it generic, from inhousepharmacy.com. Also, look into the generic from that site too. It's so much cheaper, and may work just as well. You have to try it out for you.

The disadvantage about balding early with HTs is you don't know how much you have. But at the same time, I think it's better to do a bunch of gradual HTs over time, to kind of cover up the balding as it comes. It would be very obvious if you went from Norwood 5 to 2. But to keep it at 2, maybe a HT every 5 years, would be more discreet.

Also, I wouldn't go to drastic because of the fact that technology is always improving. Maybe just get enough to keep you hair loss hidden, and 5 years later a much more efficient technique will be in place. Man, had I waited just 1 year, I probably wouldn't have gotten strip.

You didn't say how old you are, but your hair looks fine. I can't imagine why you'd be worrying, you just have a normal mature hair line. Anything you do here will force an unnaturally low hairline in the future... IMHO. And I never hope to make a dime off you so my advice is likely worth more than most who post here.

Hey Minitor,

Listen my opinion is this. From the pics it seems like you would be a very good candidate. I researched the hell out of the industry for nearly two years and when I finally had it done I let the before and after pictures be my guide. It took that long for me to find ones that actually amazed me. I naturally didnt want it to actually look like i had a transplant, that would be more embarrassing then going bald in the first place. But in my experience correcting the temple angles can be accomplished my more efficiently. thats why i feel your a good candidate. if it interests you, take a look at my blog. http://myarmanistory.blogspot.com/ My results are better than i ever thought possible.

Yes,stay on the meds for now

You look fantastic ! Hopefully by the time Propecia stops working for you there will be a cellular solution to hair loss. You look very natural & normal. Don’t put your normal appearance at risk by visiting these witch doctors.

It’s only after a bald man is butchered by a strip surgeon that he realises that there is nothing wrong with being bald.
It’s better to be naturally bald then disfigured.

Agreed. You definately do not need a HT any time soon. I would never think ANYTHING about your hair.

AGREED!

I'm 43.I had that kind of hairloss when I was 17.It stayed that way until I was in my mid to late thirties.I've still got no bald patch, just thinning and quite a bit of loss on the front.I only started getting concerned a couple of years ago.

Wait until it gets worse, which could be years away!

A big maybe is hair multiplication might happen by then.
