Hello all
I'm a scientific researcher working with xenogenic extracellular matrix materials (ECM)including Acell and other ECM bioscaffolds. I have extensive experience with these biomaterials and have communicated with world leaders in this field. Although these materials have shown regenerative properties in a number of tissues and used in over 1 million patients to date, I'm sorry to tell you that this is not the holy grail in terms of hair loss. We have used this material in human patients in healing skin wounds, and there are publications regarding ECM use in chronic wounds... these materials will not regrow hair. Sorry to break this to you but don't get your hopes up. If you don't believe me, I really don't care.

I appreciate your imput. By the way, where is the lab where you work from? I'm just curious because Acell has only been released for human use for a very short period of time. How did you manage to obtain the material and perform testing in only a few weeks?

I don't want to come across as a "cheerleader" for Acell. It may or may not work. At this point, we are waiting for the doctors to tell us what's up with it.
As far as this post goes, I don't believe it either. I feel this way for a few reasons. These are:
If he were a legitimate researcher, I would think that he would provide more information about where he works, under which doctor he works, ect. He would provide some information as a reference to prove his point.
His little comment at the end takes away from his credibility. I don't believe anyone in the research field would make such an immature comment.
Acell has just been released for human use a couple of weeks ago. I don't think that there is any possible way that it could have been obtained and tested in such a short time period.

Not only does it appear that they have confidence in it, but it also makes it pretty clear that there is NOT a body of evidence establishing that it doesn't work. Doesn't it seem logical that if it was known that it doesn't grow hair then ACELL would have just said so in their email. It may or may not grow hair but clearly ACELL does not yet know that it does not, and they would if there were all these known cases of it not growing hair. Plus the last line of that guys post really made me think it's just some 2-hole. It's probably one of the guys here that is naysaying the thing. Willy, I asked recently on here if it would make more sense to try injecting Acell into the scalp to see if it could rejuvenate the resting follices first, Before anyone thinks about using it as a way to make more donor hair. You seem to know whats going on with Acell so do you know if this will be tried by anyone or not.

Acell have not provided a shred of evidence that this works in humans & you haven’t provide a shred of evidence that it doesn’t work in humans. So we are where we have always been, nowhere! LOL
You haven’t mentioned who you are, who you work for nor have you shown us any clinical date to prove that this doesn’t work. Hi Dogstar,
These are the types of questions that I wish I knew the answers to. At this point, I really don't know that much more than anyone else on this board about Acell. I have posted all of the replies from Acell and from the doctors that I e-mailed. The only additional information that I have are names of people that have replied to me. I don't mean to be secretive about things, I'm (as I said before) just not sure who would be upset with me if I posted their name, so I don't post any of their names. Don't take this for me having any "inside" information about this company.
I do think that your idea is worth trying, or at least considering. That's why I posted the thread "Possible testing methods for Acell". I wanted to develop a list of several possible testing methods for Acell (developed by members of this forum) and e-mail this list to the original list of doctors. I know that they're doctors and we're not, but maybe someone on this forum would have thought of some method that none of the doctors considered. Anyways, I didn't get much feedback about it....so I scrapped that idea.

Do you seriously believe an expert would make a statement like that.. The only way I can see someone making a statement like that is if they wished it to fail because they have an interest in it failing and getting held up in legal fights so they can conveniently suppress, or they are a troll.
Anyway I think you are a troll. As it is known Acell ECM regenerates what local tissue stimulates it. And lesser ECM's already have outstanding results in regenerating surrounding tissues.

Unlike Lil' Willy, I didn't try to start my own helpline - I just provided the number to one. Learn how to properly apply analogies.
As to why I'm here, its because I am interested in the future of hairloss treatments. I do have a head of hair, but I have to take a pill every day and apply foam twice a day to keep it. I hope an easier solution will be discovered.

I wrote off the post as fake for 3 simple reasons.
01) this was a new poster that didn't reply to further inquiries.
02) acell is different than other ECMs, it just got cleared for humans, and it's barely had a chance to make it's way into the hands of HT doctors.
03) this guy ended his post rudely.

what I have accomplished is, after 20 yrs of trial and error i have a regimen that works. that I post in my sig, that a lot of guys over the years have thanked me for and it has helped them halt their hairloss.
does my regimen involve HM? not at all. Then why am I on the HM board? because its a free world and I choose to be
Why are skeptics allowed on the HM board? its called again..........freedom of expression, freedom of speech. The HM board is not supposed to be only a cheerleader board for Acell ACX, and other supposedly promising methods of reproducing hair
it is also by nature , supposed to allow all opinions. Just because I have one different than yours doesnt make mine pessimisitic. If I saw something which indicated Acell had human trials and had demonstrated that it WORKED, it would be different, I would be open to that.
