There most certainly will be a cure within the next 50 years. I think gene therapy at the embrionic stage is within 20-30 years, and at that point, you'd turn-off the sequence responsible for MPB so the child would grow to never experience hairloss. Growing hair outside the scalp is probably 10-15 years or so away, given the current state of the research. That isn't necessarily a "cure" though (as I define it, at least), as it still requires a transplant, and transplanted hair will never look completely natural and will remain fairly expensive. Follica, if it works, is probably 5 to 7 years from commercialization.
