Hey Guys! (Hair Multiplication & Research)

Anybody recognize my username? Yep, it's me, the original cueball... the guy who used to fight with JTR and a few other combative optimists. I was the one who said that a cure to (severe) baldness wouldn't come until they can re-grow organs, or at least cure gray hair for crying out loud. Of course, JTR cursed me and said hair is much simpler than that... and so on.

I'm finally bored with life again so I've returned to this forum to see how Intercytex is doing with their hair multiplication TRC, but it looks like they've faded awat along with all other hope. I used to read this forum since 2002 and I've lost count of all of the treatments that got everyone all excited that the cure was right around the corner (or at least "5 years away";).

Now I see that the best hope currently for hair regeneration is in a treatment for wounded dogs? Uuuggghhhh....!!! Last I checked, people don't grow fur on their heads. Lots of pics of dogs or hairless mice growing back their fur. I remember people talked on this forum about investing a lot of money in some of these schemes. How many times do scammers have to go after bald guys for money? We must be considered by most people to be the "richest but most gullible" people on earth. Hold on to your wallet guys, at least you've got that going for you.

Just my 2 cents. Now, let the eggs start flying... (cueball ducking 4 cover!)

last i checked buttgaser was doing very well on dutasteride, at least that s what he claimed, JTR probably gave up waiting for HM like most of us, i think it must be a devastating blow for jtr that gho and bazan turned out to be a big nothing after all,

i guess it s true, as you get older, hair becomes less important, there s nothing wrong with going bald naturally, just dont spot an ugly combover and life will be just fine

Hey Guys!

Good to see you Spanish Dude and the rest of you guys too! I've mellowed a lot since the good ol' days (when most of us thought the big break-through was right around the corner but I was starting to get pessimistic). I must admit that JTR had some interesting posts to read, but it was like a cross between reading science fiction and the book of revelation from the bible. He seemed to be intelligent but just wouldn't accept anyone else's opinion if it differed from his. Well, who turned out to be right after all these years? I'll give you a hint... if he were right then we'd all be making appointments to get HM with our local HT doctor THIS year. This is one case where I wish I had been wrong. Whatever happened to James Bond? He had intelligent posts yet he didn't try to control our thinking. I remember being here so long ago that most of the original posters are gone. Does anybody remember Trey and the other guy (I forget his name) who were guinea pigs for that topical treatment (which turned out to be another scam). That was way back around 2002 (when we all thought Gho was "late" in releasing HM!) Unfortunately, I think I'm correct in assuming that there will at least be a treatment for gray hair before we see a real treatment for hairloss. Anyway, I'm still hoping for a miracle like the rest of you; otherwise I wouldn't be here. But I just don't see anything here to put my hope in. Let's hope I'm wrong. I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

Hey Guys!

haha,

Yeah, ICX probably failed (wont be on the market any time soon)

Aderans - they stopped publishing any news

Follica - will be on the market maybe if everything is perfect in 5 years haha

and ACell probably is a bit overhyped as well so dont put much hopes on it.

All in all, its going to be 2012 and we are all going to be bald ... thats almost sure.

Is there any reason for speculating about timelines? I mean none of us really know, so there really is no reason. The only reason I see is to upset others and maybe yourself because you feel kind of down because of that. So there is no meaning in doing that then. Just follow what's happening and wait, we can't do much more.

Agreed. None of us really have a clue. My biggest hope right now is that follica will release some really good results within the next 1-2 years. If this happens then waiting the rest of the time won't be so frustrating

I remember FatalEvolution, and some of the rest of you. Okay, here's a good question for some of you... Do you remember Waseda? That's who the Topicals forum used to be named after. Now the HM forum is named after Benji and Baccy. Remember the Zix formula? Even that idea seems to have faded away and I think it got better results than just about anything else I've seen here. I love all these home-made experiments but let's face it, nobody has shown an after picture that has made me envious of their great new hair style. I guess when we have a picture there won't be any need to come back here and speculate because a picture is worth a thousand words. But it sure would be wonderful to see this site filled with pictures and discussions about the great results people are getting from something that actually works. I wonder if that day will come before I'm retired and don't care anymore.

get real :)

You guys can indiscriminately comdemn all the current HM methods as being nowhere near reality if you like, but I see it differently.

For decades we've had HM methods that couldn't produce anything cosmetically visible despite millions being spent on it.

But in regards to the science behind the Folica project, we've got stuff like this happening BY ACCIDENT on unrelated patients making no efforts on their hair:

Never mind the timelines to market debates. We were debating ourselves hoarse with ICX's early timeline, all in hopes of having a chance to pay thousands of dollars for results that would be a small fraction of this significant.

These wounding/EGF-R patient pics are the first time something has produced results worth looking twice at. (And the nose pic should slam the door shut about whether this is just freshly-balded hairs being reawakened like with a traditional MPB med.) It's plain as day that we're looking at the creation of all-new follicles on adult balded skin here, probably without any direction or color issues to wrestle with.

I don't see how you guys can fail to see this as a major improvement on our situation from a few years ago. (Can anyone name another improvement on the HM situation that was this significant EVER?)

hair direction, color. being forced to get a transplant

hair is extremely complex as we all know
lets assume you can get hair to grow on a bald scalp............or skin

how can you possibly determine the direction? you cant, I guarantee you this will not be able to be controlled
if the direction is off or incorrect, you look like a freak

so you are forced to get a hair transplant, with this regenerated hair
which is strange if for example the guy whose pic you posted with misdirected hair was in this situation what do you do? remove the miscolored misdirected hair and reimplant it and hope that it grows

you guys seem to gloss over these issues

Hangin, I think you already know the answer to that question. We've been over that issue again & again on here numerous times.

I think you just want to keep throwing stuff like that out in case nobody bothers to re-type the answer every time. I think you'd rather spread your viewpoint than give people correct info.

(sigh)

Here we go, AGAIN:

The hairs regenerated by wounding methods are done by the body itself. The body's own instructions (in the DNA of the skin) are governing the characteristics of the hairs. Curl, direction, color, etc.

It would be just as difficult for the body to do it wrong as it would to do it right. If the body is gonna do it differently than what was originally growing there, it would take another set of DNA instructions . . . from where?

Let's say you get a burn wound and the doctors decide to take a small sample of your skin to regrow you a skin-graft in a petri dish. Do you worry about whether the regrown skin will match the color of the rest of your skin? Do you worry about whether it will be African-looking dark skin when you're a Caucasian?

Hell no.

You might worry about whether the skin graft will grow to large enough size or something, but you won't worry about the graft disobeying your DNA's orders and doing something DIFFERENT.

The hair direction isn't governed by something deep down inside the mechanics of the follicle. It's governed by where (location & angle) the follicle is formed. And THAT set of instructions is in the skin itself.

Obviously we don't know FOR SURE yet. We don't know anything for sure yet.

But Folica has said the hairs are regrowing normally and they're not worried about it. And it doesn't seem to go wrong on the people that have regrown an occasional new hair from wounding (that's A LOT of people when you're just talking about occasional single hairs).

So I'm not gonna worry about it.

Look, if you're trying to push me to the the point where you "win" the argument out of my laziness, you're there. I'm not gonna bother to keep digging this stuff up for you.

But there is at least one pic circulating of the regrowth from the mouse experiments (I think it was on the human skin graft in that case.) the pic was circulating on here months ago. The hair direction looked fine.

» » I remember FatalEvolution, and some of the rest of you. Okay, here's a
» » good question for some of you... Do you remember Waseda? That's who
» the
» » Topicals forum used to be named after. Now the HM forum is named after
» » Benji and Baccy. Remember the Zix formula? Even that idea seems to
» have
» » faded away and I think it got better results than just about anything
» else
» » I've seen here. I love all these home-made experiments but let's face
» it,
» » nobody has shown an after picture that has made me envious of their
» great
» » new hair style. I guess when we have a picture there won't be any need
» to
» » come back here and speculate because a picture is worth a thousand
» words.
» » But it sure would be wonderful to see this site filled with pictures
» and
» » discussions about the great results people are getting from something
» that
» » actually works. I wonder if that day will come before I'm retired and
» » don't care anymore.
» Yes. Reserved optimism is the key. Let's not get too excited. We know it
» works but we don't know how well it works yet. Let's keep level-headed.
» As for this new-found fame, I'm not very comfortable with it. But I will
» keep you fellas updated, good or bad.

I certainly wish you and anyone who experiments with a treatment all the best of luck. But I think we're still back to the one problem that has persisted yet everyone forgets about when they see a new hair grow where there was nothing before. That problem is density. Let's face it, no one can deny that there are quite a few treatments that can grow hair where there was none before. For example, we have transplants and FUE, minoxidil, propecia, even some over the counter treatments can grow SOME hair it seems, such as revivogen (unless their pics are fake) and yes, maybe even using sandpaper on our shiny heads. BUT, take a look at the difference between the area of the head that is DHT resistant and the treated area. No matter what we do, it's like our hair looks weak up there... like a lion with no teeth or something. I'm just disgusted with the way it looks on me and everyone else (just being honest). Sure, some people think bald is beautiful but some people also think rats are cute, so I don't really care about them. However, believe me when I say that when I see a picture of something that actually works I'll be there cheering with the rest of you. The problem is that every time that happened in the past it was a scam.

» Hi, Baccy, have you ever taken a pic of your scalp before ?

Never. However, ever since I removed the rug five years ago and tried topicals, I've scrutinised my scalp every day. I use a mirror so that I can see the entire scalp. You could say that I'm personally aquainted with every hair and follicle on my head. So I recognise newcomers when I see them. All I had before was vellus hair in places. Probably from the minoxidil and other topicals I used in the past. But just like when I first used minoxidil in 1986, vellus hair was quick to appear but didn't develop any further.
I just hope that these develop as a result of my next experiment later this month.

looks so bad with a cure

hey guys,

it looks so bad now. baccy's experiments are the biggest hope at the moment. why even bother reading this forum. its all a depressing mess. best is not to care about baldness or balding in general. i compliment everyone who doesnt care about it coz you are a lucky one. when will a cure come? 10 , 20, 30 years? hanging is so right! what are we a bunch of freaks that we think that one of these treatments will work. i remember an article of a guy who discussed about buying or not buying intercytex stocks. this was long before we started thinking that it looks bad for ICX. and this guy came to the conclusion that the chance of ICX-TRC working was 20%. he was so right. what can we do? nothing. we can get a hair transplant or use meds which are on the market. fine, but if they stop working then there is nothing.

wow, this is a depressing post. but the truth is depressing.

i was so naive when i first came to hairsite and read about dr. bazan and his experiments and that it would be out in 2004. now is 2008 and it looks like everything is MORE than 5 years away. wow , we go back in time. the more time goes by, the longer we have to wait. it would be funny if it wasnt so depressing. maybe when im as old as ahab, then there will be a cure. oh well, at this time, a bald head will suit me coz it suits grandpa's.

everyone in here a happy (bald) life!

why bother? everything we have at the moment is just research. research, research research. tell me when i can pay with my €uros for a treatment and i will think about it. but at the present, what do i have from these pics and this research? nothing. nothing and again nothing.

hey moron i asked you a simple question, where are the pics from the follica results you are bragging about

and you go into a tizzy about it and start spouting off about MOUSE PICS

mouse results are not human results.........................so follica in other words has not been tested on humans

next question

get used to your hair, thats what i have done

getting your hopes up that some company will develop something to magically get back your hair...........how realistic is that? not very

what is so bad about losing your hair? you guys problem is you compare yourselves to guys more fortunate hair wise..............this is a losers game

there is always someone more handsome, more rich, more successful, taller, etc

how about counting your blessings, ever thought of that? the fact you have good friends family, are in good health, you are not in a wheelchair, etc

if you guys want a reality check try flying to another country where people have REAL PROBLEMS. you might just pull your head out and realize how fortunate you are instead of crying about your hair all the time
