Lysine hair loss treatment is the real deal, (Hair Loss Supplements)
|
I tried several experiments, I am convinced Lysine is the real deal when used with Propecia. Every time I added lysine to my routine, my hair is so much thicker and hair loss almost dropped to zero.
Propecia/minox etc are ok, but adding lysine really makes a huge difference.
Lysine is available everywhere, very cheap, it's worth a try.

I had tried propecia without lysine , it just didn't work that well for me, I don't know why or what lysine does exactly, I have been experimenting using propecia with/without lysine for a couple years, hair loss dropped to zero each time i added lysine to my regimen. At first I thought that was just a coincidence but after a couple of years I am convinced lysine is what makes the difference for me.
Sorry, I wish I know why

Patent: use of Lysine in the treatment of hair loss
|
There was a patent issued in 2000. Worth reading. Finasteride is mentioned in the patent.
"Use of Lysine in the treatment of hair loss" -
http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6136860/description.html
<QUOTE>
We have also discovered that administration of lysine to patients results in a dramatic increase in the efficacy of known treatments for genetic hair loss (which term covers a number of conditions variously referred to as androgen-dependent alopecia, androgenic alopecia, androgenetic alopecia, common baldness, female baldness, diffuse hair loss and male pattern baldness).
Thus, in a further aspect of the present invention there is provided a kit including a plurality of separate containers, each containing at least one active agent useful in a combination therapy for the treatment of genetic hair loss, wherein said kit includes L-lysine and at least one further active agent selected from minoxidil, anti-androgens, 5α-reductase inhibitors, aromatase inhibitors and corticosteroids.
There is also provided a therapeutic combination for the treatment of genetic hair loss comprising L-lysine and at least one further active agent selected from minoxidil, anti-androgens, 5α-reductase inhibitors, aromatase inhibitors and corticosteroids.
Typical examples of anti-androgens which can be used include cyproterone acetate, spironolactone, medroxyprogesterone acetate and flutamide which can, for example, be formulated for oral or topical administration. Type I, type II or mixed type I and type II 5 α-reductase inhibitors can be used, e.g. finasteride. A typical example of a suitable corticosteroid is dexamethasone.
In a preferred embodiment, the kit comprises L-lysine and at least one further active agent selected from minoxidil and one or more anti-androgens, which are preferably chosen from cyproterone acetate, spironolactone and medroxyprogesterone acetate. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the kit comprises L-lysine which is formulated for oral administration and minoxidil which is formulated for topical application.
The co-administration of L-lysine with known treatments for genetic hair loss such as minoxidil and anti-androgens results in a significant improvement in the efficacy of the treatment. The reason for this improvement in efficacy is not currently understood.

My initial question is the side effect profile.
Will Lysine actually aid hair preservation without increasing the side effects from the medication in a matching proportion?
Or is it just a way to make the existing medication hit your system harder?

And yes it (again) adds up very nicely.

Lysine is the real deal,
|
1g is not that much; e.g. in different types of protein the amount of lysine ranges from 4-9g/100g of protein, with grains edging low and milk protein high on the scale.
No, I have not tried a smaler dosage since 1g is the recommanded dosage/one of the recommanded dosages.
And I do not feel like lysine is potentiating the side effects of finasteride;
on its own lysine is known to help the immune system. I do not know how this relates to hairloss.

I make $31,000 a year and I have a home and I'm not about to throw it all away on some punk like you. But someday when you're outta here and you've forgotten all about this place and they've forgotten all about you, and you're wrapped up in your own pathetic life, I'm gonna be there. That's right. And I'm gonna kick the living sh*t out of you. I'm gonna knock your dick in the dirt.
Bender: You threatening me?
Richard Vernon: What are you gonna do about it? You think anyone's gonna believe you? You think anyone is gonna take your word over mine? I'm a man of respect around here. They love me around here. I'm a swell guy. You're a lying sack of sh*t and everybody knows it. Oh, you're a tough guy. Hey c'mon. Get on your feet pal. Let's find out how tough you are. I wanna know right now how tough you are.
[offers Bender his chin]
Richard Vernon: Just take the first shot. I'm begging you, take a shot. Just one hit. Come on, that's all I need, just one swing...

Dont get your hopes up, Lysine?

» Now if you said L CYSTEINE helps hair loss yes I would agree
» but lysine, never heard that
Yeah right Hangin. All the supposed research you've done and living on the hairloss boards because you have no real life and now you "claim" you never heard about lysine....Bullcrap
The benefits of lysine are easily Googled. I have already presented several.
You always down play posts that don't have you in the spotlight.

Bullshiit! You haven't presented Jack Squat, in the form of serious medical evidence. Anybody can find lots of garbage of every conceivable kind from liars and screwballs on the Internet; the real trick is to find LEGITIMATE MEDICAL SOURCES that support something. Get to work, and stop wasting our time with this garbage about lysine.

I can't believe this thread is still going.
Lysine is a stupid little enzyme. One of many that our bodies use.
If you're deficient in it, take more.
If you're not deficient in it, then don't.
Big deal.

Hairsite already posted a study involving lysine. The co-administration of L-lysine with known treatments for genetic hair loss such as minoxidil and anti-androgens results in a significant improvement in the efficacy of the treatment. The reason for this improvement in efficacy is not currently understood. It wouldn't hurt to try it.

There is no "study" of lysine for hair loss!

There is no "study" involving lysine and hairloss, in the sense that a "study" is something published in a legitimate medical journal. All there is, is a claim made in a patent that some clown took out for using it, most likely for the specific purpose of helping to sell some stupid product of his. BUT DON'T BELIEVE IT!! Get your hairloss advice from medical journals and medical prefessionals, not smarmy Web sites that are trying to sell you snake oil.

L Cysteine is the most abundant of the amino acids in our hair
supplementation with this is 100 times more noticeably effective than Lysine can every hope to be, when coping with hair loss

Lysine hair loss treatment is the real deal,
|
Once a drug official composition has run out other pharmaceutical company can then repeat the drug and sell it as a common version.
Generic propecia and inventive Propecia is usually precise a very safe and resonance drug, and very hardly any people have announcement side effects. a large amount of those that do monitor side effects are only awfully mild.
This medice plyes boost role as hair lose treatment.

There is one study conducted at SUNY by a team of researchers. They used Lysine to derive l-Carnitine. According to the study, l-Carnitine (Lysine) has anti-inflammatory elements which help treat hair loss

This is what you guys need to take a look at...including you Hangin...
Topical l-carnitine l-tartrate for regrowth from a doctor's site.
Could this be the cure for hair loss?
Big Pharma accidentally discovered that a patented drug used for blood pressure, minoxidil, helped regrow hair. Boy, did they make billions! But you don't need the drug. I am excited to tell you about a possible treatment for hair loss. If I could keep it a secret and market it, I probably would make a bazillion dollars in no time, just like Big Pharma. But I'd rather tell you about it and get your feedback. This is a dandy.
Researchers recently cultured human hair follicle cells. These are the skin cells responsible for making your hair. They incubated the cells with very low levels of L-carnitine tartrate for nine days. At the end of that time, the follicles treated with l-carnitine showed significant growth of hair.
But that's not all. The treatment also slowed apoptosis, or preprogrammed cell death. It improved division of cells essential to making hair. It improved local cell growth proteins in the outer root sheath.
The authors concluded their fascinating study urging more research of this safe nutraceutical approach to male pattern baldness and other forms of hair loss. I agree. But there's no reason to wait. It's harmless. And this isn't the only research I've seen on carnitine and hair loss. Other studies found that topical carnitine provides more ATP to the hair follicle cells. That makes sense since carnitine is intimately related to mitochondrial energy production from fatty acids.
Carnitine is readily available in your local health food store. Once you buy it, here's all you have to do: Take a capsule, dissolve it in a small amount of carrier solution, and apply it to your scalp. Since DMSO is an outstanding solvent and means to carry substances into the skin, a weak 20% solution of DMSO could be the ticket. DMSO 20% is unlikely to irritate your skin. And there is no drug risk from the carnitine. You can find DMSO on the Internet.
If you try this solution, please let me know how it works. I'd love to beat Big Pharma at their own game.
Yours for better health and medical freedom,
Robert Jay Rowen, MD
