*Pre-REPORT* - gc83uk - 2nd HST procedure (Hair Stem Cells Transplantation)

» Let’s assume some one already got a “GOOD” coverage (the majority –actually
» ALL- of HT patients just get a “good illusion” of a full head of hair, even
» the result “looks great” ) via normal/traditional hair transplants.
» In this case, and let’s assume he already got the normal/average
» possible amount of grafts from his occiput of about ~6,000 grafts
» into his recipient/bald areas (e.g. a NW 4-6 guy), these 6,000 grafts/FU’s
» ARE basically considered as completely normal and “DHT resistant” hair
» follicles; the latter is simply a proven FACT.
» That means, if such a guy still had some original hair follicles/hairs in
» his recipient site in addition, PLUS the new 6,000 grafts/FU’s from
» his occiput THEREAFTER, these existing hairs WILL mainly vanish over time –
» but not the new transplanted hairs from the occiput.
»
» So the question is:
» Is it possible to CLONE all -or at least a part- of the 6,000
» transplanted hairs again?
»
» Basically, and without any doubt, YES. Because the ESSENTIAL part of
» the whole “DHT resistent story” has been transferred/transplanted to the
» recipient site – the follicle tissue, and the latter is basically
» programmed (don’t ask me why) to grow (produce thick terminal hairs) until
» you die.
»
» So, if you extract this transplanted follicle again in such a way so
» that
»
» 1) it has the ability to regenerate again in the (recipient-)site where you
» removed it partially and
» 2) if you transplant the extracted follicle part anywhere in a bald spot in
» the recipient area (“DHT effected area” ), this extracted follicle WILL
» grow also in this new site and until you die – without any doubt.
»
» But unfortunately, the above described scenario will not happen (at least
» not that successful) – DUE TO the nature of traditional/normal hair
» transplant techniques.
»
» Contrary, with the HST technique –without any details in THIS post- you
» basically CAN successfully do it (step 1-2). Anyway, I think it’s still too
» early to discuss this topic in general.

Well then that's exciting. Hopefully HST achieves widespread adoption soon then; more surgeons performing it would lead to greater experimentation, more attempts to circumvent limitations, etc. Anyhow, perhaps it's premature, but maybe this forum should start thinking about compiling a sticky soonish? Just with the salient details of the procedure, what (relatively little) evidence is available, before-afters, etc?
