Lighter-Skinned Hispanics Racist and Bigoted Towards Darker-Skinned Hispanics (Off Topic)

A CAUTIONARY LETTER TO HANGININTHERE:

HanginInThere, what do you think about the fact that lighter-skinned Hispanics, whose ancestors came primarily from Spain, are frequently racist, bigoted, condescending, obnoxiously discriminatory, exploitative, and hateful towards darker-skinned Hispanics?

This is true -- no one can deny it. In fact, this is a much bigger phenomenon than what you talk about, i.e., lighter-skinned blacks being "racist" or bigoted towards darker-skinned blacks. In the African-American community, there is some discrimination against other blacks (just as there has always been some discrimination in the white community against other whites), but this is not overwhelmingly pervasive, and happens only in certain situations and with certain people.

However, black-on-black discrimination is nowhere near as pervasive as the phenomenon of discrimination in the Latino community, where light-skinned, primarily European-blood Latinos discriminate against, exploit, and are racist towards, their darker-skinned brethren, who are primarily of mestizo (mixed) European and Native American Indian stock, or of pure Native American Indian stock.

Look at all the so-called "telenovelas" on Latino TV. What you see is wealthy, WHITE Hispanic families, with white skin, lording it over the plebeians -- dark-skinned "Indios", poor people of Indian stock who serve as domestic servants, maids, gardeners, chauffeurs, valets, etc. These poor, dark-skinned "Indios" are also often depicted as low-level criminals, thugs, drug addicts, or uneducated campesinos and manual laborers, etc.

You, who are not black, constantly call attention to so-called racism in the African-American community, because you are trying to prove that if African-Americans can be racist, you can be racist, too. This is a way of justifying your own racism. It's very interesting that you, who are not black, are so interested in and preoccupied with so-called "racism" in the African-American community. Why? Of what interest is this to you, except to justify and make neat excuses and convenient for your own inner demons?

Well, if you are Hispanic, HanginInThere (which you may very well be, but you're not telling us about it, because if you are, you're afraid to admit it, probably because you have an inferiority complex about it -- you've probably internalized white racism towards Hispanics and suffer from "self-hatred" of your own background), then look at how light-skinned Hispanics display hatred and contempt towards their darker-skinned Latino brothers and sisters, who happen to have more Indian blood flowing through their veins. Darker-skinned Latinos, the shorter, darker mestizos and Indios, are depicted as servants, maids, and other menial workers, all in the service of wealthy, white, tall, light-skinned families in Latin America.

Come on, HanginInThere, address this issue. Tell us why white Hispanics are racist towards darker Hispanics who have more Native American Indian (Indio) ancestry.

Go ahead, Hangin, address this issue. If you really know so much about all different races, such as African-Americans, tell us all why light-skinned Hispanics are bigoted against darker-skinned Latinos from their own countries! :-)
