Id say its a decent result. Id be happy if I were in his shoes. But growing hair that long I guess gives a "thinning" effect.

Im sure with shorter hair - may be around 0.5 inch to 2 inches hair length would look good.

For the same quantity of hair around 0.5 - 2 inches would LOOK denser than longer hair, in my opinion.
