2000 CIT grafts after 28 months - Results (Hair Transplant)

This transplant looks great.

ť ť 5 years ago, this Norwood 4 had a strip hair transplant procedure
ť performed
ť ť at a well known clinic before choosing CIT (Cole Isolation Technique)
ť to
ť ť improve naturalness on the front and fill balding areas. The area on
ť the
ť ť top of the scalp initially had hair growing in it from the strip
ť ť procedure, but later became completely bald. The loss of hair in this
ť ť area was correlated with the application of topical combination of
ť ť Minoxidil and Retin A. The patient noted that the area gradually
ť became
ť ť irritated and red with the development of a crust. Scarring alopecias
ť can
ť ť produce skin changes and hair loss similar to this, but one often is
ť not
ť ť able to get additional grafts to grow in the area of scared skin.
ť These
ť ť combinations of Minoxidil and Retin A can be quite irritating to the
ť skin.
ť ť There is no strong evidence that Retin A adds any additional benefit
ť to
ť ť the Minoxidil. This patient later discontinued using the combinantion
ť of
ť ť Minoxidil with Retin A and later peeled the scab off. The area was
ť left
ť ť without hair and the skin had the appearance of scar tissue. Another
ť ť contributing factor for this patients need of CIT hair transplant
ť method
ť ť was the lower donor density due to strip surgery from the past.
ť Beginning
ť ť in 2005, the IHTI surgical staff successfully transplanted 2000 CIT
ť grafts
ť ť to treat this patients hair loss. The treatment plan consisted of
ť three
ť ť smaller CIT sessions to achieve ideal coverage on the receded areas.
ť This
ť ť patient noted growth within just two months after his first procedure
ť ť which in not uncommon as all hairs do not grow at the same rate. The
ť ť results after 28 months can be seen below as well as images of a
ť satisfied
ť ť patient.
