Not a whole Lot Going on In here...Buzz Cut Forum (Shaved Heads & Buzz Cut)

ť ť I've been 'buzzing' my hair since about Freshmen year in High School.
ť Back
ť ť then and for years I would usually put on a 3/4 inch or 1 inch clipper
ť ť length, and just run it across my entire head. That worked great until
ť my
ť ť hairline started to recede a couple years ago, because using the same
ť ť clipper length also reveals exactly just how much your hairline has
ť ť receded. So, to help keep the appearance of my original hairline I
ť ť developed a technique that actually worked, pretty simple, I would use
ť a
ť ť slightly shorter clipper-length everywhere on my head other than the
ť ť temple region, and for the temple area would use a slightly longer
ť length.
ť ť So for example 3/4 or 1/2 inch setting everywhere but the temple
ť region,
ť ť and perhaps a 1 inch setting on the temple area. This allows to give
ť the
ť ť appearance of a more normal or 'non-receding' hairline, while at the
ť same
ť ť time, the 1/4 or 1/2 inch length difference is not noticable to the
ť naked
ť ť eye, people can't really tell the temple area is actually a bit
ť longer--
ť ť at least with my hair they can't.

ť ť That technique worked great for a while, until inevitably my temple
ť region
ť ť started to be diffuse to the point that this technique couldn't really
ť hide
ť ť my hairline recession as well as it used to. So as every balding man
ť has a
ť ť problem with, it's not very easy to figure out the best Hair Style
ť route
ť ť for my overall appearance nowadays. Lately I've been growing out the
ť top
ť ť slightly longer to get more coverage in the temple regions, and cutting
ť ť the sides shorter. This works out o.k.-- and will for a bit longer
ť until
ť ť the temples are gone.

ť ť My great hair days are behind me-- and now it's just a matter of doing
ť the
ť ť best you can with what you've got, I'm sure you all can relate.

ť ť Not that I expect any response to this posting-- but anyone else have
ť some
ť ť good Clipper or Bic Razor hair-styling techniques or stories to tell?

ť ť remember thinking as a kid and still do for the most-part, that balding
ť ť men always look better with shaved heads or very closely cropped heads.

ť ť I think I'll end up doing the Bic Razor across the scalp look,
ť completely
ť ť clean shaved. Problem is it's risky!-- I've got lighter skin, and with
ť my
ť ť 'corporate' job, especially being in a customer-facing role, I need to
ť look
ť ť as sharp as possible. I don't really have time for that experiment!
