on those rare occasions they can look real (Celebrity Hair Loss)

posted by mullet, 03.02.2008, 22:49

it's possible for a piece to go undetected; however, this only happens when all 3 of the following conditions exists:

- the piece is new
- the existing hair, to mesh in with the piece, has recently been cut
- the piece has been meticulously styled to blend in with the existing hair

i usually spot hairpieces because they almost never blend in well with the users hair on their sides and back. my uncle wears a piece and what gives it away is that it sometimes doesn't blend in well with the hair in the back. additionally, it's too thick - which looks unnatural.

sly stallone and john travolta wear unnatural looking and detectable pieces. for 2 guys who make millions and can't always get their rugs to look real, the average joe won't fare much better.

it's no secret that elton john travels with his own stylist who maintains the dead squirrel on his head.

this is off-topic, but personally i would never wear a piece. they look ridiculous and are maintenance nightmares. how long can you go around fooling people into thinking you have hair and hiding under some monstrous contraption glued to your head. actors and musicians can get away with wearing them, however, they don't work out for the average joe. i just scheduled a 1500 FUE procedure next month with Dr. Cole and i'm optimistic this will work out.
