The 4th week Update (Propecia, Avodart, Spiro, DHT & hormones ...)

posted by Goingallout, 27.03.2008, 13:56

» I am going to start a log of my results on the following regime which I am
» in the process of starting up. But first I have some questions that are
» asked in the parantheses below:
»
» 0.5 Dutasteride daily
» Rogaine Foam 2x daily (should I only apply it to the crown and vertex or
» also to my hairline)?
» Nizoral 2% cream (how often do people suggest?)
» 1g Lysine daily
» 2,000 mcg Biotin daily
» 4 g daily MSM
» 10g of L-Arginine (this is said to stimulate the release of growth
» hormone, especially in those who exercise)
» Multivitamin
»
» Any thoughts?

I started this regime on March 4th, but started with Dut, and hadn't received shipment until about a week ago on the Niz cream. I changed out the Rogaine foam for Minoxidil 5% (from Costco) because people said the foam seemed to cause their hair to fall out. So I guess could say this should count as my first week on this full regime, but is my fourth week on Dut.

0.5mg Dutasteride daily
Rogaine Foam 2x daily
Nizoral 2% cream usually once daily, sometimes twice
Nizoral 1% shampoo twice a week
1g Lysine daily
1 tablet of Maxi Hair
3 g daily MSM
10g of L-Arginine (this is said to stimulate the release of growth hormone, especially in those who exercise)
Multivitamin
6-8 grams of Fish Oil

RESULTS/EFFECTS: PLUS: Hair starting to come in on the right temple, probably the left one too (I haven't looked that closely). I don't see any particular effect on my hairline further up, but I am not bothering to look that closely until I am a few months into this thing. This is lighter color peach fuzz type hair, I guess that's called vellus. It's very short, but growing longer and in a minor way thicker. PLUS: scalp itch almost non-existent, I had forgotten how it was to have a non-itchy scalp. This is actually huge in terms of better comfort, and I am convinced that scalp itch and hair loss correlate significantly. I had the greatest scalp itch in the same place on my right side where I had the greatest recession -- i.e. at the top of the temple going back up to the vertex -- sort of a David Letterman-type look. MINUS: I'm a little dead downstairs and this wouldn't be acceptable were I not in a personal situation where it's probably for the better. I can function, but I have less ejaculate. MINUS: Strange feeling in the head sometimes. It goes away when I exercise more or less. I had some headaches at first, but those are gone. NEUTRAL: Is enhanced testosterone making me somewhat more aggressive?
